Brian Kelly (February 14, 1931 – February 12, 2005) was an American actor widely known for his role as Porter Ricks, the widowed father of two sons on the NBC television series '' Flipper''. Early years Kelly was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Republican Governor of Michigan Harry F. Kelly (who was also chief justice of Michigan's Supreme Court) and the former Anne Veronica O'Brien. Kelly had three sisters and two brothers, one of whom was his fraternal twin. His nephew (sister's son) is actor Brian d'Arcy James. He was of Irish descent. Kelly attended St. Mary High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Brian Keith Kelly (born October 25, 1961) is an American football coach who is currently the head football coach at Louisiana State University (LSU). Kelly previously served as the head football coach at Grand Valley State University (1991–2003), Central Michigan University (2004–2006), the University of Cincinnati (2006–2009), and the University of Notre Dame (2010–2021). He led the Grand Valley State Lakers to consecutive NCAA Division II Football Championships in 2002 and 2003. Kelly's 2012 Notre Dame team reached the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, while his 2018 and 2020 teams made appearances in the College Football Playoff (CFP). Brian Kelley (January 8, 1943 – September 19, 2011) was an American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) counterintelligence officer. He was investigated by the CIA and FBI as a suspected KGB mole during the 1990s, before FBI agent Robert Hanssen was identified as the actual mole and arrested in 2001. Having been suspended during the investigation, Kelley was reinstated by the CIA and later received the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal for his service. Brian Kelly (born 3 November 1978, in York, England) is an international chess player. Although born in England, he moved to Limerick, Republic of Ireland when he was 2 years old, and later to Belfast, Northern Ireland when he was 12. Both his parents hold Irish citizenship and he can compete for Ireland in international competitions. He attained the title of International Master in 1998. His current FIDE rating is 2488, with a highest rating of 2504 achieved in July 2005. Kelly won the Irish Chess Championship twice, outright in 1995 and jointly in 2007. In 1994, he won a gold medal at the Chess Olympiad playing on Board 6 for Ireland, as well as sharing first place in the Ulster Chess Championship. Brian Kelly (born December 27, 1980 in West Chester, Pennsylvania) is a professional lacrosse player. He has previously played for the San Francisco Dragons and the Los Angeles Riptide of Major League Lacrosse (MLL). He played college lacrosse for the Whittier College Poets in Los Angeles. Kelly attended high school at Downingtown High School in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1999. Kelly Dee Burden (March 21, 1938 – August 31, 2016), fighting under the name Brian Kelly, was an American professional boxer. He began boxing at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church gym in 1946 when he was 13 and won gold at the 1948 Olympic Games, Olympic trials at age 14 At age 16, he became the youngest boxer to ever win a Canadian amateur senior crown.
