Brian Halfpenny
Brian Norman Halfpenny, CB, QHC, FRSA (born 7 June 1936) is a British Anglican priest and retired military chaplain. Order Of The Bath
The Most Honourable Order of the Bath is a British order of chivalry founded by George I of Great Britain, George I on 18 May 1725. The name derives from the elaborate medieval ceremony for appointing a knight, which involved Bathing#Medieval and early-modern Europe, bathing (as a symbol of purification) as one of its elements. The knights so created were known as "Knights of the Bath". George I "erected the Knights of the Bath into a regular Order (honour), Military Order". Melksham
Melksham () is a town on the River Avon in Wiltshire, England, about northeast of Trowbridge and south of Chippenham. At the 2011 census, the Melksham built-up area had a population of 19,357, making it Wiltshire's fifth-largest settlement after Swindon, Salisbury, Chippenham and Trowbridge. History Early history Excavations in 2021 in the grounds of Melksham House found fragments of locally made pottery from the early Iron Age (7th to 4th centuries BC). There is evidence of settlement continuing into the later Iron Age and Roman periods, including Roman clay roof tiles. Melksham developed at a ford across the River Avon. The name is presumed to derive from "''meolc''", the Old English for milk, and ''"ham"'', a village. Glyndwr Renowden
The Venerable Glyndwr Rhys Renowden CB (13 August 1929 – 17 August 2002) was an eminent Anglican priest in the second half of the 20th century. Biography He was born into an ecclesiastical family on 13 August 1929. He was educated at Llanelli Grammar School and St David's College, Lampeter. Renowden ordained in 1953. He served curacies at St Mary's, Tenby and St Mary's, Chepstow. Crockfords (London, Church House, 1995) He then entered the Chaplains Branch of the Royal Air Force (RAF), in which he served for 30 years. He was appointed Resident Chaplain of St Clement Danes, in London, the central church of the Royal Air Force (1976). Eventually becoming an Honorary Chaplain to the Queen (1980) and the service's Chaplain-in-Chief (1983). He was appointed Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 1987 Queen's Birthday Honours.
