Beta Breuil
Beta Breuil (born 1876, death unknown) was the professional name and pen name of Elizabeth Donner Vanderveer. Breuil worked as a script editor and screenwriter for several motion picture companies in the early 1900s. Early life Born in 1876 in New York City, Breuil was the daughter of Frank S. Vanderveer, a lawyer. Her family was well off and she attended schools in both New York City and Germany. On November 21, 1893, Breuil married Frank Milne Willard, who owned a forge business and was fairly wealthy. The two were about to divorce but Williard died before they could, in 1904. This caused something of a scandal after his death. Breuil attempted to collect a life insurance policy, but was taken to court by his family. The story was written about in ''The New York Times'' under the headline "Death Prevented Divorce"''.'' Henri Breuil
Henri Édouard Prosper Breuil (28 February 1877 – 14 August 1961), often referred to as Abbé Breuil, was a French Catholic priest, archaeologist, anthropologist, ethnologist and geologist. He is noted for his studies of cave art in the Somme and Dordogne valleys as well as in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, China with Teilhard de Chardin, Ethiopia, British Somali Coast Protectorate, and especially Southern Africa. Life Breuil was born at Mortain, Manche, France, and was the son of Albert Breuil, magistrate, and Lucie Morio De L'Isle. He received his education at the Seminary of St. Sulpice and the Sorbonne and was ordained in 1900, and was also given permission to pursue his research interests. He was a man of deep religious faith and learning. Christophe Breuil
Christophe Breuil (; born 1968) is a French mathematician, who works in arithmetic geometry and algebraic number theory. Work With Fred Diamond, Richard Taylor and Brian Conrad in 1999, he proved the Taniyama–Shimura conjecture, which previously had only been proved for semistable elliptic curves by Andrew Wiles and Taylor in their proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. Later, he worked on the ''p''-adic Langlands conjecture. Academic life Breuil attended schools in Brive-la-Gaillarde and Toulouse and studied from 1990 to 1992 at the École Polytechnique. In 1993, he obtained his DEA degree at the Paris-Sud 11 University located in Orsay. From 1993 to 1996 he conducted research at the École Polytechnique and taught simultaneously at the University of Paris-Sud, Orsay, and in 1996 received his PhD from the École Polytechnique, supervised by Jean-Marc Fontaine with the thesis "Cohomologie log-cristalline et représentations galoisiennes p -adiques".
