Brett Wisely
Brett Michael Wisely (born May 8, 1999) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the San Francisco Giants organization. He played college baseball at Gulf Coast State College. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 15th round in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut in 2023. High school Wisely attended Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida, and played on their baseball team. As a senior in 2017, he batted .514 with six home runs as a leadoff hitter, alongside leading the area with 11 wins and 1.25 ERA while striking out 88 batters over 67 innings. He was named the ''Times-Union''s All-First Coast baseball player of the year. College Wisely then played two years of college baseball at Gulf Coast State College. College Baseball
College baseball is baseball that is played on the intercollegiate level at institutions of higher education. In comparison to football and basketball, college competition in the United States plays a smaller role in developing professional players, as baseball's professional minor leagues are more extensive, with a greater history of supplying players to MLB. Moving directly from high school to the professional level is more common in baseball than in football or basketball. However, if players do opt to enroll at a four-year college to play baseball, they must complete three years to regain professional eligibility, unless they reach age 21 before starting their third year of college. Players who enroll at junior colleges (i.e., two-year institutions) regain eligibility after one year at that level. Joseph George Lucchesi (''loo-kay-see''; born June 6, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the San Diego Padres in 2018. Career San Diego Padres Lucchesi attended Newark Memorial High School in Newark, California, and played college baseball at Chabot College and Southeast Missouri State University. Bryce Johnson (baseball)
Bryce Christopher Johnson (born October 27, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at Sam Houston State University. The Giants selected Johnson in the sixth round of the 2017 MLB draft. In 2021, he led the Triple-A West in stolen bases. Sacramento River Cats
The Sacramento River Cats are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and are the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Prior to 2015, the River Cats were the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics for 15 years. They are based in West Sacramento, California, and play their home games at Sutter Health Park which opened in 2000 and was known as Raley Field through 2019. Sacramento was previously represented in the Pacific Coast League by the Solons, a charter member of the league which was founded in 1903. The Durham Bulls are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. They are located in Durham, North Carolina, and play their home games at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, which opened in 1995. Established as the Durham Tobacconists in the North Carolina League in 1902, the team subsequently disbanded and restarted numerous times. After a 10-year hiatus, it was reestablished as the Durham Bulls and played in the North Carolina State League from 1913 to 1917. The Montgomery Biscuits are a Minor League Baseball team based in Montgomery, Alabama. They are the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and play in the Southern League. The team was founded in Orlando, Florida, in 1973 as the Orlando Twins, an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.
