Brett Gorvy
Brett Paul Gorvy (born July 1964) is a British art dealer. He is a co-founder and partner (with Dominique Lévy) of Lévy Gorvy, a gallery with offices in New York City, London, and Geneva. Early life Brett Gorvy was born in South Africa, one of four children of billionaire financier Manfred Gorvy and his wife, Lydia. Career In December 2016, Gorvy left his position as chairman and international head of Post-war and Contemporary Art at Christie's after 23 years. It was then he set up his gallery with Dominique Lévy. This led to the rebranding of Levy's Madison Avenue Gallery as Lévy Gorvy. Personal life Gorvy is married to Amy Gold, an independent art dealer, who worked for Christie's for ten years, before becoming a senior director at the New York gallery L&M Arts, run by Dominique Lévy and Robert Mnuchin. Manfred S. Gorvy (born 4 May 1938) is a South African billionaire investor and philanthropist based in London. He is the founder and chairman of Hanover Acceptances. Early life Manfred S. Gorvy was born on 4 May 1938 in South Africa. He attended Parktown Boys' High School and later received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Dominique Lévy
Dominique Astrid Lévy (born June 1967) is a Swiss art dealer, and co-founder and partner, with Brett Gorvy, of Lévy Gorvy, a gallery with offices in New York City, London, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Paris. Early life Lévy was born in June 1967, in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her father, a cotton merchant, left Egypt in 1956 after Gamal Abdel Nasser came to power. She organized her first exhibition when she was 18. Lévy studied art history and politics at the University of Geneva and received a BA in Political Science and an MA in Sociology of Art. L&M is an American brand of cigarettes, currently owned and manufactured by Altria and Philip Morris International. The name comes from the tobacco company founded in 1873 called Liggett & Myers, predecessor of today's Liggett Group, in which L&M was originally produced. Robert E. Mnuchin (born 1933) is an American art dealer and former banker. He is the founder of the Mnuchin Gallery at 45 East 78th Street, New York. He is the father of Steven Mnuchin, who was the United States Secretary of the Treasury in the Trump administration. Early life Mnuchin was born in 1933, and grew up in Scarsdale, New York. His parents, Harriet (Gevirtz) and Leon A. Mnuchin, were "modest collectors" of art. He graduated from Yale University in 1955.
