Brett Cooper (footballer)
Brett Cooper (born 11 August 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Cooper established himself at Preston in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and he won Preston's best and fairest award in 1981. He joined Collingwood in 1983, although he would occasionally miss games due to his army commitments. Collingwood's secretary, John Birt, described Cooper as a "mini Rene Kink". The Preston Football Club, which trades and plays as the Northern Bullants, is a long-established Australian rules football club based in Preston, Victoria, Preston that plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It plays its home games at the Preston City Oval. The club was established in 1882 as the Preston Football Club. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Brunswick Football Club was an Australian rules football club which played in the Victorian Football League, Victorian Football Association (VFA) from 1897 until 1991. Based in Brunswick, Victoria, for most of their time in the Association they were known as the Magpies, and wore black and white guernseys. Waverley Park (also and originally called VFL Park) was an Australian rules football stadium in Mulgrave, Victoria, Australia. For most of its history, its purpose was as a neutral venue and used by all Victorian-based Victorian Football League/Australian Football League clubs.
