Brett Brochu
Brett Brochu (born September 9, 2002) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. Early life Brett Brochu was born in Belle River, Ontario on September 9, 2002, and spent his youth playing hockey. Playing career Brochu played for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. In 2020 he was awarded the F. W. "Dinty" Moore Trophy. During the 2020–21 season, when the OHL season was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Brochu played for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. Entering the 2023–24 season, Brochu signed with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL International play Brochu played for Team Canada at the 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. Canada Men's National Junior Ice Hockey Team
The Canadian men's national under-20 ice hockey team is the ice hockey team representing Canada internationally in under-20 competition. Their primary participation in this age group comes at the International Ice Hockey Federation's World Junior Championship, held annually every December and January. The team also participates in various exhibition matches and occasional exhibition series, such as the 2007 Super Series against their Russian counterparts, an eight-game exhibition series commemorating the 35th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series. 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships were the 46th edition of the IIHF World Junior Championship, played from August 9–20, 2022 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held from December 26, 2021, through January 5, 2022, in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta, Red Deer — the host cities originally awarded the 2021 tournament before it was moved into a "Bubble (sports), bubble" Behind closed doors (sport), behind closed doors in Edmonton due to the COVID-19 pandemic. IIHF World Junior Championship
The IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC), or simply the "World Juniors" in ice hockey circles, is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for national under-20 ice hockey teams from around the world. It is traditionally held in late December, ending in early January. The tournament usually attracts the top hockey players in this age category. The main tournament features the top ten ranked hockey nations in the world, comprising the 'Top Division', from which a world champion is crowned.
