Brethren Of The Croatian Dragon
The Society of Brethren of the Croatian Dragon ( Croatian: Družba "Braća Hrvatskoga Zmaja"; Latin: ''Societas "Fratres Draconis Croatici"'') is a Croatian historical and cultural society founded on November 16th, 1905. History The Society was formed in times of Croatian territorial and political disunion. Certain autonomy had been bestowed only upon Banic Croatia in co-state with Hungary that was a part of Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Other regions were out of reach of Croatian banus and parliament. The Society was founded in politically complex and difficult conditions for the Croats, in times of rightly harbored hopes in resolving Croatian national positions, primarily national unification and integration of the Croatian lands in the pluralistic society shaped by political and national unity. Ivan Gundulić
Dživo Franov Gundulić ( it, Gianfrancesco Gondola; 8 January 1589 – 8 December 1638), better known today as Ivan Gundulić, was the most prominent Baroque poet from the Republic of Ragusa (now in Croatia). He is regarded as the Croatian national poet. His work embodies central characteristics of Roman Catholic Counter-Reformation: religious fervor, insistence on "vanity of this world" and zeal in opposition to "infidels". Founded in 1995 and owned by photographer and journalist Ivo Pukanić, ''Nacional'' quickly gained a reputation for reporting and critical articles about the conservative government led by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which was in power during the 1990s. Milan Bandić
Milan Bandić (22 November 1955 – 28 February 2021) was a Croatian politician and the longest-serving List of mayors of Zagreb, mayor of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Bandić was mayor almost continuously from 2000 to 2021, except during the time between his resignation in 2002 and the 2005 Zagreb local elections, 2005 election. Zvonimir Šeparović
Zvonimir Šeparović (14 September 1928 – 30 January 2022) was a Croatian jurist and politician. Biography Šeparović was a professor of Criminal Law at the University of Zagreb and rector of the University from 1989 to 1991. He was also known as the pioneer of victimology and a vocal opponent of death penalty. Although he lacked any formal party or political affiliation, in 1991 he became foreign minister in the "National Government" of Franjo Gregurić. In 1992 he became the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations. He remained active in public life and did at one point become both a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) as well as a member of the party's Central Committee. Mislav Grgić (born in 1973 in Osijek, Croatia) is a university professor, scientist, Ph.D. in technical sciences, and electrical engineer. He served as a Dean of FER from 2014 until 2018. Antun Bauer (museologist)
Antun Bauer (Vukovar, 18 August 1911 – Zagreb, 8 April 2000) was a Yugoslav museologist and collector. He was born in Vukovar. He received a degree in history and archeology in Zagreb in 1935, where he also obtained his PhD in 1937. He served as the director of ''Gipsoteka'' (nowadays ''Gliptoteka HAZU'') in 1937–1952, as the director of the Croatian School Museum (until 1966) and as the director of the Museum Documentation Center in Zagreb (until 1975). In the period 1966-1989 he was the head and lecturer of the postgraduate course on museology. Petar Zrinski
Petar IV Zrinski ( hu, Zrínyi Péter) (6 June 1621 – 30 April 1671) was Ban of Croatia (Viceroy) from 1665 to 1670, general and a writer. Saint George (Greek: Γεώργιος (Geórgios), Latin: Georgius, Arabic: القديس جرجس; died 23 April 303), also George of Lydda, was a Christian who is venerated as a saint in Christianity.
