Bret Burchard
Bret Burchard is an American former basketball player and coach. He served as head coach of the Northern Arizona Suns of the NBA G League from 2018 to 2020. He attended Taylor University. Coaching career Buchard began his coaching career as an assistant coach for his college, Taylor University. In 2010, he began working for the Phoenix Suns organization. Burchard was originally a part of the inaugural season's coaching staff for the Northern Arizona Suns NBA G League team. Early in the 2017–18 season, Burchard was named an associate head coach for the Northern Arizona squad. However, during the middle of that same season, he was promoted to the Phoenix Suns as a player development assistant coach after the firing of the original coaching staff held together under former coach Earl Watson at the time. Taylor University
Taylor University is a private, interdenominational, evangelical Christian university in Upland, Indiana. Founded in 1846, it is one of the oldest evangelical Christian universities in the country. The university is named after Bishop William Taylor (1821–1902). The university sits on an approximately campus on the south side of Upland. Northern Arizona Suns
The Motor City Cruise are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Detroit, Michigan, and are affiliated with the Detroit Pistons. The Cruise play their home games at Wayne State Fieldhouse. The franchise began play as the Long Beach Jam in 2003 under the revived American Basketball Association and moved to Bakersfield in the D-League in 2006 as the Bakersfield Jam. The Phoenix Suns are an American professional basketball team based in Phoenix, Arizona. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. Earl Watson
Earl Joseph Watson Jr. (born June 12, 1979) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins, where he was a four-year starter and named all-conference as a senior in the Pac-10 (now known as the Pac-12). Watson was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in the second round of the 2001 NBA draft with the 39th overall selection. He played 13 seasons in the NBA with seven teams before becoming a coach in 2014. He was the head coach of the Phoenix Suns from 2016 to 2017. Bob Burchard
Bob Burchard is a retired men's basketball coach who spent 31 seasons as the head coach at Columbia College in Missouri. He compiled a record of 788-269 (.746 win percentage) before retiring at the end of the 2018-19 season. His teams advanced to the NAIA Men's Basketball tournaments 22 times including 21 of his last 25 seasons. Burchard was named American Midwest Conference coach of the year 12 times. In May 1996, Burchard earned the Columbia Kiwanis Don Faurot Sportsperson of the Year Award (named after the former University of Missouri football coach). In the summer of 2008, he was also inducted to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) Hall of Fame.
