Shikma Schwarzmann-Bressler ( he, שקמה ברסלר; born July 10, 1980) is an Israeli physicist. A researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science, she is among those taking part in research at the CERN particle accelerator in Switzerland as a member of the ATLAS collaboration. She is also a social activist and leading figure in the "Black Flags" protests against Benjamin Netanyahu. Biography Bressler was born in Haifa, the second child of four, to a doctor mother and a father who was a senior worker at Elbit Systems, Elbit systems. She grew up in Kibbutz Gvat and Timrat. When she was younger she played basketball in the Hapoel Galil Elyon basketball team and in Israel's youth national team. After her army service, Bressler moved on to play for "Ha'poel Haifa". Rube Bressler
Raymond Bloom "Rube" Bressler (October 23, 1894 – November 7, 1966) was an American left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics from 1914 to 1916 and Cincinnati Reds from 1917 to 1920, before being converted to an outfielder and first baseman for Cincinnati from 1918 to 1927, the Brooklyn Robins from 1928 to 1931 and the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals in his final year of 1931. The first two teams he played for made it to a World Series, the 1914 Philadelphia Athletics lost to the miracle Boston Braves, while the 1919 Cincinnati Reds won against the scandal-tainted Chicago White Sox. For the 2010 census it was split into three CDPs, Bressler, Enhaut, and Oberlin. The area is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area. Charles Bressler
Charles Bressler (April 1, 1926 – November 28, 1996) was an American tenor. He was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania, and studied at the Juilliard School with Lucia Dunham. He became a founding member of the New York Pro Musica, with which he toured from 1953 to 1963. He taught at the Manhattan School of Music. In 1956 he appeared in "The Lark", starring Julie Harris, at the Longacre Theatre in New York City. He is noted for his performances of early music. He also made a number of important recordings with Maurice Abravanel and the Utah Symphony, notably the Vanguard recording of the Berlioz Requiem. In addition, he appeared on the Los Angeles Philharmonic recording of Respighi's ''Lauda per la Natività del Signore'' along with Marilyn Horne, Marie Gibson, and the Roger Wagner Chorale, conducted by Alfred Wallenstein.
