Brentwood High School is a public high school located in Brentwood, Tennessee, United States. The school serves the north central section of Williamson County for students in grades 9-12. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In their 2022 rankings, '' U.S. News & World Report'' ranked Brentwood High School fifth in Tennessee and #301 in the country. History The school opened in 1982 to serve the rapidly growing population in the northern part of Williamson County and relieve overcrowding at Franklin High School. Since it opened, there have been a number of renovations and expansions to the campus to both expand capacity and improve arts and athletics facilities. In 1985, additional classrooms were constructed to keep up with the school’s quickly growing enrollment. Dayna Curry
Dayna Curry (born November 4, 1971) is an American citizen, who was held a prisoner by Taliban government of Afghanistan in 2001. She befriended fellow aid worker Heather Mercer while attending Antioch Community Church in Waco, Texas. In 2001 the pair were part of a German-based missionary group called Shelter Now International when they were imprisoned by the Taliban for proselytization. Their captivity coincided with the September 11 attacks and the beginning of the US-led War in Afghanistan. In November 2001, Curry and her fellow workers were rescued from Taliban captivity by US military forces. Early life Curry was raised in Forest Hills, Tennessee. In 1989, she graduated from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee and went to Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
