Breng Nijmegen
Breng is the name of a public transportation concept in the Stadsregio Arnhem–Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Novio (a branch of Connexxion) was the operator from 13 December 2009, for a period of 3 years. On 9 December 2012 Hermes, another branch of Connexxion, became the operator in the region and continues to operate as Breng. Connexxion
Connexxion is a large Public transport in the Netherlands, public transport company in the Netherlands, operating in the west, middle, east and southwest parts of the country. It is owned by Transdev and Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten. It is a subsidiary of Transdev Netherlands. History Connexxion was formed on 10 May 1999 from a merger between transport companies NZH, ZWN, Midnet and Oostnet. Its name is a mutation of the French word wiktionary:Connexion, connexion meaning connection. In January 2007, Connexxion took over Utrecht public transport operator GVU (Utrecht), GVU and Nijmegen operator Novio. In 2007 Connexxion's 33% shareholding in Keolis Nederland, Syntus was sold. Rail Transport In The Netherlands
Rail transport in the Netherlands uses a dense railway network which connects nearly all major towns and cities. There are as many train stations as there are municipalities in the Netherlands. The network totals on of track; a line may run both ways, or two lines may run (one in each direction) on major routes. Three-quarters of the lines have been electrified. The Dutch rail network primarily supports passenger transport. Rail travel comprises the majority of the distance travelled on Dutch public transport. The national rail infrastructure is managed and maintained by the government agency ProRail, and a number of operators have concessions to operate their trains. The entire network is standard gauge.
