Brendon LaBatte
Brendon LaBatte (born September 12, 1986) is a Canadian football guard with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted sixth overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2008 CFL Draft. He played CIS Football with the Regina Rams. Career LaBatte was drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the sixth overall pick in the 2008 CFL Draft. He went on to win three consecutive CFL East Division All-Star awards from 2009 to 2011. Prior to the 2011 East Division final, Labatte was named to his first ever CFL All-Star team. LaBatte won the 2013 Grey Cup with Saskatchewan on November 24, 2013. He signed a contract extension with the Roughriders through the 2022 season on December 23, 2020. Weyburn
Weyburn is the eleventh-largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. The city has a population of 10,870. It is on the Souris River southeast of the provincial capital of Regina, Saskatchewan, Regina and is north from the North Dakota border in the United States. The name is reputedly a corruption of the Scottish "wee burn," referring to a small creek. The city is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Weyburn No. 67. CIS Football
U Sports football is the highest level of amateur play of Canadian football and operates under the auspices of U Sports (formerly Canadian Interuniversity Sport). The regular season began on August 5, 2021, and ended November 20, 2021. Each team played 14 regular season games over 16 weeks. 2008 CFL Draft
The 2008 CFL Draft took place on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, live at 12:00 PM ET on TSN.ca. A total of 48 players were chosen from among 752 eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. Of the 48 draft selections, 33 players were drafted from Canadian Interuniversity Sport institutions. The first two rounds were broadcast on TSN.ca with host Rod Black.
