Daniel Breck
Daniel Breck (February 12, 1788 – February 4, 1871) was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Kentucky. Daniel Breck (brother of Samuel Breck (politician), Samuel Breck) was born in Topsfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1812. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1814 and commenced practice in Richmond, Kentucky, in October of the same year. He was judge of the Richmond County Court. He was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1824 to 1827 and again in 1834. He was president of the Richmond branch of the State Bank of Kentucky from 1835 to 1843. He was appointed associate judge of the Supreme Court of Kentucky on April 7, 1843, and served until 1849. He owned slaves. James Lloyd Breck
James Lloyd Breck (June 27, 1818 – April 2, 1876) was a priest, educator, and missionary of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. Breck is commemorated on April 2 on the Episcopal calendar of saints. Early life and education Breck was born in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He was the fourth son of Catherine D. née Israell and George Breck. He was baptized at All Saints Church, Torresdale, Philadelphia, in 1821. He attended high school at the Flushing Institute (at Flushing, New York), founded by William Augustus Muhlenberg, who inspired him to resolve at the age of sixteen to devote himself to missionary activity. Senator James Lloyd of Massachusetts and Breck's uncle financed his education at Flushing and the University of Pennsylvania. He received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1838 and a B.D. from the General Theological Seminary in 1841. Joseph Berry Breck
Joseph Berry Breck (July 12, 1828 – July 26, 1865) was an officer in the United States Navy during the American Civil War. Biography Breck was born in Maine, the son of Benjamin Dunton Breck and Jane S. Simmons. Breck had a successful career in the American mercantile marine as a shipmaster and businessman, and at the outbreak of the Civil War was engaged in the Pacific and China trade, but soon offered his services to the Navy Department. He was eventually commissioned as an Acting Ensign on February 27, 1863. From April 24, 1863 he commanded the screw steamer , taking a prominent part in the destruction of the saltworks at Masonboro Inlet, North Carolina, on August 27, 1864, and on many other expeditions ashore. He received rapid promotion; to Acting Master on August 8, 1863, to Acting Volunteer Lieutenant on November 16, 1863, and to Acting Volunteer Lieutenant Commander on November 25, 1864. Julia Breck (22 August 1941 – 28 January 2020) was a British actress from Newport, Isle of Wight. She is best known for her frequent appearances in Spike Milligan's '' Q'' series (1975–80), in which she generally appeared as a buxom "glamour stooge". Breck also appeared in ''Monty Python's Flying Circus'', ''On the Buses'', ''The Two Ronnies'' and ''Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em''. Samuel Breck (February 25, 1834 – February 23, 1918) was an officer in the United States Army who served as Adjutant General of the U.S. Army from 1897 to 1898. Early career Born in Middleborough, Massachusetts to one of the oldest families in the state, Breck entered the United States Military Academy at West Point on July 1, 1851. He graduated seventh in his class on July 1, 1855 and was commissioned second lieutenant of artillery. While with the 1st Artillery, he served in Florida during the Third Seminole War. Breck served at several forts along both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts from 1856 to 1860. From 1856 into 1857 he was at the garrison at Fort Moultrie in South Carolina. He served at Fort McHenry in Maryland from 1857 to 1859. In 1859 he marched from Helena, Arkansas to Fort Clark, Texas. Samuel Breck (July 17, 1771August 31, 1862) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 1st congressional district from 1823 to 1825. Life Samuel Breck (brother of Daniel Breck) was born in Boston in the Province of Massachusetts Bay. His parents were Samuel Breck and Hannah Andrews. His father was a wealthy merchant in Boston and the family mansion adjacent to Boston Common was often visited by foreign travelers. He began his education at Boston Latin School. In 1783 Breck attended the Royal Military School of Loreze, France. He completed his studies in France in 1787. Although he was somewhat drawn to Catholicism in France he remained an Episcopalian his whole life. In 1790 his father gave him $10,000 to set up as a merchant on Boston's longwharf. Breck School is an independent college-preparatory preK–12 school in Golden Valley, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. It was founded in 1886 and is affiliated with the Episcopal Church. The school includes a ''Lower School'' consisting of grades preschool through four, a ''Middle School'' consisting of grades five through eight, and an ''Upper School'' consisting of grades nine through twelve.
