Eucharist
The Eucharist (; from Greek , , ), also known as Holy Communion and the Lord's Supper, is a Christian rite that is considered a sacrament in most churches, and as an ordinance in others. According to the New Testament, the rite was instituted by Jesus Christ during the Last Supper; giving his disciples bread and wine during a Passover meal, he commanded them to "do this in memory of me" while referring to the bread as "my body" and the cup of wine as "the blood of my covenant, which is poured out for many". The elements of the Eucharist, sacramental bread ( leavened or unleavened) and wine (or non-alcoholic grape juice), are consecrated on an altar or a communion table and consumed thereafter, usually on Sundays. According to the Gospel of Luke, the road to Emmaus appearance is one of the early post-resurrection appearances of Jesus after his crucifixion and the discovery of the empty tomb. Both the meeting on the road to Emmaus and the subsequent supper at Emmaus, depicting the meal that Jesus had with two disciples after the encounter on the road, have been popular subjects in art. ''Del Amitri'' (stylised as ''del Amitri'') is the eponymous debut album by the Scottish rock band Del Amitri, released in May 1985 by Chrysalis Records. Two singles were released, "Sticks and Stones, Girl" (with B-side "The King Is Poor" and "The Difference Is" as an additional track on the 12-inch) and a rerecorded version of "Hammering Heart" (with B-side "Lines Running North" along with a live version of "Brown Eyed Girl" on the 12-inch). ''Fractio Panis'' (English: ''Breaking of Bread'') is the name given to a fresco in the Greek Chapel (''Capella Greca'') in the Catacomb of Priscilla, situated on the Via Salaria Nova in Rome. The fresco depicts seven persons at a table, possibly all women, due to the long skirts (men's wouldn't come past the calf), veil, and all of their upswept hair. The Vatican declares it to be six men and a woman. Like the whole of the decorations of the chapel, the fresco dates from the first half of the 2nd century. The painting is found upon the face of the arch immediately over the altar tomb, upon which the sacrament of the Eucharist was performed. Martin Rainey Philip is an American baker, author, and banjoist. He is the head bread baker at King Arthur Flour in Norwich, Vermont. Early life and education Philip was born in the Ozark Mountains area of Arkansas. He grew up in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In 1992, Philip received a Bachelor of Music in performance (voice) from the Oberlin College's conservatory for classical music. Career After college, Philip lived in San Francisco until 2000. After moving to New York City to pursue work in opera, Philip worked in the operations division of the investment bank Credit Suisse until 2006. He attended classes at Art Students League of New York for drawing. Philip wrote about how being in the City during September 11 attacks initiated a career change.
