Brantford—Brant (formerly just Brant) is a provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district in southwestern, Ontario, Canada. The district elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It was created in 1999 from all of Brantford (federal electoral district), Brantford and part of Brant—Haldimand (federal electoral district), Brant—Haldimand. When the riding was created, it included the city of Brantford, the town of Paris, Ontario, Paris plus the townships of Brantford Township, Ontario, Brantford and South Dumfries Township, Ontario, South Dumfries. The riding existed from 1867 to 1926 as Brant North. It was then merged with Brant South (provincial electoral district), Brant South to create Brant County until 1934. The County of Brant (2021 population 39,474) is a single-tier municipality in the Canadian province of Ontario. Although it retains the word "county" in its name, the municipality is a single-tier municipal government and has no upper tier. The County of Brant has service offices in Burford, Paris, Oakland, Onondaga and St. George. The largest population centre (2021 population 14,956) is Paris. The County of Brant is a predominantly rural municipality in Southern Ontario. Dave Levac
David Joseph Levac (born April 6, 1954) is a retired Canadian politician who was the 41st speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2011 to 2018. Levac was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1999 as a member of the Ontario Liberal Party. He served as the member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Brant until 2018 and is the Ontario legislature's longest serving speaker. Background Born in Brantford, Ontario, Levac attended Wilfrid Laurier University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1976. Turmel (born February 22, 1951) is a perennial candidate for election in Canada, and according to the ''Guinness World Records'' holds the records for the most elections contested and for the most elections lost, having contested 112 elections and lost 111. The Canadians′ Choice Party (CCP) is a minor political party based in Ontario, Canada. The party is led by Bahman Yazdanfar. History The Canadians' Choice Party was founded on August 26, 2011 by Bahman Yazdanfar of Toronto. Yazdanfar, who immigrated to Canada from Iran in 1986, ran a small consulting firm for businesses until 2008, when the global economic recession caused him to close. Will Bouma
Willem Bouma (born July 27, 1972) is a Dutch-Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2018 provincial election. He represents the riding of Brantford—Brant as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. Before becoming an MPP, Bouma practised optometry and was a member of the Brant County Council. Cambridge is a provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district in southwestern, Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It was created in 1975. From 1987 to 1999, it consisted of the city of Cambridge, Ontario, Cambridge plus that part the township of North Dumfries located directly to the east of Cambridge.
