Brant Foundation
The ''Brant Foundation Art Study Center'' is a private art collection and gallery with exhibition spaces in New York City and nearby Greenwich, Connecticut. The collections, focused on modern and contemporary art, are privately owned by Peter Brant and open to the public; reservations must be booked in advance. East Village gallery The Foundation's East Village, Manhattan museum opened in 2019 at 421 East 6th Street, a yellow-brick former Consolidated Edison substation. Peter Mark Brant Sr. (born March 1, 1947) is an American industrialist, as well as a magazine publisher, film producer, and art collector. He is married to model Stephanie Seymour. Early life and education Brant was raised in Jamaica Estates, Queens, the son of Lily and Murray Brant. Both parents were Jewish immigrants from Bulgaria. The East Village is a neighborhood on the East Side of Lower Manhattan in New York City. Deborah Solomon (born August 9, 1957) is an American art critic, journalist and biographer. She sometimes writes for the New York Times, where she was previously a columnist. Her weekly column, "Questions For" ran in ''The New York Times Magazine'' from 2003 to 2011. Later, she was the art critic for WNYC Public Radio, the New York City affiliate of NPR.
