Brannon Woods, Kentucky
Brannon Woods is an unincorporated community in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. Brannon Woods began growing along U.S. Route 68 U.S. Route 68 (US 68) is a United States highway that runs for from northwest Ohio to Western Kentucky. The highway's western terminus is at US 62 in Reidland, Kentucky. Its present northern terminus is at Interstate 75 in Findlay, Ohio, though ... as Lexington rapidly grew to the southwest and began running out of land. The first developments in the area began in the 1980s when several subdivisions were built along Brannon Road. Southland Christian Church, Lexington's largest church and the second largest church in Kentucky moved to a site in Brannon Woods in 1981. In 2001 Bellerive Shopping Center was completed in the community. In 2005 US 68 was widened from Brannon Road to Man O War Blvd in Lexington, and in 2010 it was widened southward to Wilmore. Jessamine County, Kentucky
Jessamine County () is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 52,991. Its county seat is Nicholasville. The county was founded in December 1798. Jessamine County is part of the Lexington-Fayette, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is within the Inner Blue Grass region, long a center of farming and blooded stock raising, including thoroughbred horses. The legislature established a commercial wine industry here in the late 18th century. History Jessamine County was established in 1798 from land given by Fayette County. Southland Christian Church is an evangelical Christian church based in Kentucky, US. Overview The church is located in an unincorporated area of Jessamine County, Kentucky, just outside Lexington. Wilmore is a home rule-class city in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 3,686 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all of it land. History A post office called "Wilmore" was established in 1877. It was named for John R. Wilmore, a local landowner and former slave owner. In 1882, the Southern Railway established a line through the county and located a flag stop at Wilmore which was briefly called "Scott's Station".
