John Brannen (basketball)
John Brannen (born January 18, 1974) is an American basketball coach currently serving as a program analyst and senior special assistant for the University of Dayton Dayton Flyers men's basketball, Flyers. He was most recently the men's basketball coach of the University of Cincinnati Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball, Bearcats. Brannen previously spent four seasons as the head coach for the Northern Kentucky University Northern Kentucky Norse men's basketball, Norse. Before that he spent nine seasons as an assistant coach to Anthony Grant (basketball), Anthony Grant at both VCU Rams men's basketball, VCU and Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball, Alabama. John Brannen (born March 19, 1952) is an American roots rock/ heartland rock, singer-songwriter whose song "Somebody" appeared on the Eagles album ''Long Road Out of Eden''. Brannen is heralded as an "underground legend" and has been active as a songwriter and performer since the early 1980s. Biography Early life Brannen was born into a prominent and storied Southern family in Savannah, Georgia, United States. His parents first met at a diplomatic function in China, where his mother worked for the American consulate. Brannen's father, a cotton broker of some note, died unexpectedly and under strange circumstances in Brazil shortly before John was born. After his father's death, Brannen's mother moved to the coastal town of Bluffton, South Carolina where she would later raise John with help from her father. Nathan Brannen
Nathan "Nate" Brannen (born 8 September 1982) is a Canadian retired middle-distance runner from Cambridge, Ontario, who competed at three Summer Olympics: 2008, 2012 and 2016. Brannen is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He is affiliated with the Phoenix Athletics Association of Ontario. Brannen currently holds four Canadian track and field records: in the indoor and outdoor 1,000 metres (2:16.86 indoor, 2:16.52 outdoor), 2,000 metres (4:59.56), and the indoor one-mile (3:54.32).
