Brandwood (ward)
Brandwood is one of 40 wards which constitute Birmingham City Council and is part of the Birmingham Selly Oak constituency. Prior to May 2010, it was a part of the constituency of Birmingham Hall Green. The ward contains a large number of owner-occupied properties around Howard Road, Wheelers Lane, May Lane, Woodthorpe Road, Featherstone Road, Brandwood Road, Howard Road, Lindsworth Road and Alcester Road South, in addition to two big former council estates around Allenscroft Road and Druids Heath, the latter containing 16 high-rise tower blocks. Brandwood is a sub-section area of Kings Heath. The area is served by Druids Heath Library, Cocks Moor Woods Leisure Centre and Golf Course, Baverstock School and Brandwood End Cemetery. A ward is a local authority area, typically used for electoral purposes. Jane E. Slowey (died 2017) was a British charity worker who was the Chief Executive of The Foyer Federation. Jane Slowey became Chief Executive of the young people's housing charity The Foyer Federation in 2004. She was Chair of 'Skills – Third Sector', a national charity that champions skills development among volunteers and paid staff in voluntary organizations, charities and social enterprises. Slowey was Vice Chair of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations from 2003 to 2008. She was previously chief executive of Birmingham Voluntary Youth Service Council. Slowey was the Vice Chair of the West Midlands Regional Assembly. Kingstanding
Kingstanding is an area in north Birmingham, England. It gives its name to a ward in the Erdington council constituency. Kingstanding ward includes the areas; Perry Common, Witton Lakes and Wyrley Birch. The other part of Kingstanding falls under the Oscott ward. Kingstanding houses a covered drinking water reservoir, Perry Barr Reservoir, on the site of the former Perry Barr Farm. Kingstanding is served by two libraries; Kingstanding Library and Perry Common Library. The area known as Kingstanding Circle is where the Kingstanding village centre lies with its shops and Kings Road/ Kingstanding Road roundabout. Hall Green is an area in southeast Birmingham, England, synonymous with the B28 postcode. It is also a council constituency, managed by its own district committee. Historically it lay within the county of Worcestershire. Stephen James "Steve" McCabe (born 4 August 1955) is a British politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Birmingham Selly Oak since 2010. A member of the Labour Party, he was previously MP for Birmingham Hall Green from 1997 to 2010. Early life Born in the shipbuilding town of Port Glasgow on the River Clyde, McCabe attended the Port Glasgow High School before studying at the Moray House College (later named Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh) in Edinburgh, where he was awarded a Diploma in Social Studies (Certificate Qualification Social Work) in 1977 and qualified as a social worker. Demographic profiling is a form of demographic analysis used by marketers so that they may be as efficient as possible with advertising products or services and identifying any possible gaps in their marketing strategy. A nationwide census, known as Census 2001, was conducted in the United Kingdom on Sunday, 29 April 2001. This was the 20th UK census and recorded a resident population of 58,789,194.
