Brandon Segal
Brandon Segal (born July 12, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He most recently played under contract to the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career As a youth, Segal played in the 1997 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from North Delta, British Columbia. Segal was originally drafted in the fourth round (102nd overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft from the Calgary Hitmen, and spent four seasons with their AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals. On June 25, 2007, Segal was traded to the Anaheim Ducks for future considerations. He was then assigned to affiliate, the Portland Pirates to begin the 2007–08 season. After 54 games with the Pirates, Segal was traded by the Ducks along with a 7th round draft pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Jay Leach on February 26, 2008. Calgary Hitmen
The Calgary Hitmen are a major junior ice hockey team based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Hitmen play in the Central Division of the Western Hockey League (WHL). They play their home games at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Bret "The Hitman" Hart, a local-born professional wrestler, was a founding owner as well as the inspiration for the team's name. Christopher Robert Mason (born April 20, 1976) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He most recently played with Augsburger Panther of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Manchester Monarchs (AHL)
The Manchester Monarchs were a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). They played in Manchester, New Hampshire, at the Verizon Wireless Arena. They were the AHL affiliate of the National Hockey League (NHL) Los Angeles Kings during the team's entire existence. The Monarchs won their only Calder Cup in their final AHL season. The Norfolk Admirals were a professional ice hockey team that played in the American Hockey League. They became affiliated with the Anaheim Ducks after being dropped from the Tampa Bay Lightning following their 2012 AHL championship season. Jay Christopher Leach (born September 2, 1979) is an American former professional ice hockey player and currently the assistant coach of the Seattle Kraken in the National Hockey League (NHL). He is a former captain of the Albany Devils. Playing career Leach was drafted in the fifth round (115th overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes. After spending several years in minor hockey leagues, he signed as a free agent with the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins on September 26, 2003. While with the Bruins he appeared in his first two NHL games during the 2005–06 season, collecting no points and seven penalty minutes. 2008 NHL Entry Draft
The 2008 NHL Entry Draft was the 46th NHL Entry Draft. It was hosted by the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, on June 20–21, 2008. The Senators were originally awarded the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, but because of the lockout, that draft was scaled back significantly from its usual format of being open to the public and having many draft-eligible players in attendance. The actual 2005 drafting was held in Ottawa's Westin Hotel instead of the Corel Centre, as Canadian Tire Centre was then known. The Portland Pirates were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). Their home arena was the Cross Insurance Arena in downtown Portland, Maine. The franchise was previously known as the Baltimore Skipjacks from 1982 to 1993.
