Brandon Maxwell (ice Hockey)
Brandon Maxwell (born March 22, 1991) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for EC Kassel Huskies of the DEL2. He was drafted 154th overall in the sixth round by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, but went unsigned. Playing career Maxwell took the AHMMPL junior league, where he defended the Cambridge Hawks during the 2006–07 season, through the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he was a member of the U17 and U18 national team. In both age categories, he captured the 2008 World U18 Championship tournament and has won the bronze medal. From 2009 to 2012, he worked in the Canadian junior league, the Ontario Hockey League ( Kitchener Rangers, Sarnia Sting, Mississauga St. Michael's Majors). ECHL
The ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League) is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada. It is a tier below the American Hockey League (AHL). The ECHL and the AHL are the only minor leagues recognized by the collective bargaining agreement between the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association, meaning any player signed to an entry-level NHL contract and designated for assignment must report to a club in either the ECHL or the AHL. The Utah Grizzlies are a professional ice hockey team in the ECHL. They play their home games at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. Franchise history The current Utah Grizzlies franchise started in 1981 as the Nashville South Stars in Nashville, Tennessee, in the Central Hockey League. Henry Brabham then took over the team in 1983 and relocated them to Vinton, Virginia mid-season, to become the Virginia Lancers. Brabham and the Lancers were then one of the founding members of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) in 1988. The Swedish Hockey League (officially SHL; sv, Svenska Hockeyligan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the highest division in the Swedish ice hockey system. The league currently consists of 14 teams. Hockey Club Berkut-Kyiv ( ua, ХК Беркут-Київ, en, HC Golden Eagle Kyiv) was an ice hockey team in Kyiv, Ukraine, that existed from 1997 to 2002. The Mississauga Steelheads are a junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League, based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The Steelheads play their games at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga. History The OHL originated in Mississauga with the Mississauga IceDogs. The IceDogs played in Mississauga from 1998 to 2007 being purchased by Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk in 2006. Following the 2006-2007 season, Melnyk sold the Icedogs who moved to St Catherines to become the Niagara IceDogs. At the same time Melynk moved the Toronto St. Michael's Majors to Mississauga to become the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. Sarnia is a city in Lambton County, Ontario, Canada. It had a 2021 population of 72,047, and is the largest city on Lake Huron. The Kitchener Rangers are a major junior ice hockey team based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Midwest Division of the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League.
