Brandon Laird (basketball)
Brandon Laird (born 1970s) is an American men's basketball coach, currently the associate head coach at Idaho. He was previously the interim head coach of Sacramento State. Laird attended El Camino Fundamental High School. He walked on to the basketball team at UC Davis in 1997 and played sparingly as a freshman. Laird helped the team win the 1998 NCAA Division II men's basketball tournament and earn two conference titles. During his junior season, he emerged as a three-point shooting threat. Laird began his coaching career in 2001 as an assistant at El Camino Fundamental High School. In 2002, he was hired as an assistant coach at UC Davis. Laird joined the coaching staff at NAIA team Menlo College as an assistant in 2003. He was promoted to head coach in 2006. Idaho Vandals Men's Basketball
The Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represents the University of Idaho, located in Moscow, Idaho, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They currently compete in the Big Sky Conference. The Vandals are currently coached by Zac Claus and play home games at the new Idaho Central Credit Union Arena. This venue, which also houses the women's basketball team, opened in 2021 as the replacement for the Vandals' primary home of the Kibbie Dome, whose basketball configuration was known as Cowan Spectrum, and alternate venue of Memorial Gym. Big Sky Conference
The Big Sky Conference (BSC) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I with football competing in the Football Championship Subdivision. Member institutions are located in the western United States in the eight states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Four affiliate members each participate in one sport: two from California are football–only participants and two from the Northeast participate only in men's golf.
