Brandon Kellum
Brandon Kellum (born November 1, 1985), is an American musician, author, philanthropist from Phoenix, Arizona best known as the vocalist of the metalcore band American Standards. He is characterized for his charismatic live performances and philosophical lyrical content. Early life and education Kellum was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Trevor G. Browne High School and later Arizona State University. He works as a business consultant for a fortune 500 company. Musical career Vera Lynne/Movie script ending He began his musical career in 2002 as the guitarist for the post hardcore band Vera Lynne which originally performed under the name Movie Script Ending. Vera Lynne was the first of many Monster Energy sponsored artists that went on to play the Vans Warped Tour and play tour dates with bands such as It Dies Today, Still Remains, The Used, As Cities Burn and Avenged Sevenfold. It Dies Today (sometimes abbreviated "IDT") is an American metalcore band that formed in Buffalo, New York during September 2001 (around the time surrounding 9/11). The band achieved popular success in 2004 with the release of their debut album, '' The Caitiff Choir''. After frontman Nicholas Brooks departed in 2006, just after the release of the band's sophomore effort ''Sirens'', It Dies Today released ''Lividity'' in 2009 before going on hiatus in 2010. Emery is an American post-hardcore band formed in Rock Hill, South Carolina, in 2001 by Toby Morrell, Devin Shelton, Matt Carter, Josh Head, Joel Green, and Seth Studley. Zao () is an American metalcore band founded in Parkersburg, West Virginia and later relocated to Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Founded in March 1993, Zao has hosted several musicians and endured numerous roster changes to the point where no original members remain. Refused (also known as the Refused) is a Swedish hardcore punk band originating from Umeå and formed in 1991. Refused is composed of vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, guitarist Kristofer Steen, drummer David Sandström, and bassist Magnus Flagge. Guitarist Jon Brännström was a member from 1994, through reunions, until he was fired in late-2014. Their lyrics are often of a non-conformist and politically far-left nature and were for a time associated with the straight edge subculture.
