Brandon Fusco
Brandon Fusco (born July 26, 1988) is a former American football guard. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the 172nd overall pick in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Early years Fusco attended Seneca Valley Senior High School in Harmony, Pennsylvania, where he played offensive tackle. He did not play football until his junior year at Seneca Valley, stating "Sophomore year, didn't really do nothing and football just kind of came to my attention. I always watched it on TV and I sometimes got into a ticked off mood so I wanted to get out on the field and take my frustrations out on people." Despite performing for a team that won just one of eighteen contests during his two varsity seasons, Fusco earned All-WPIAL Class AAA-1 and honorable mention Quad North All-Star honors. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through. Gene Upshaw Award
The Gene Upshaw Award is awarded to the best Lineman (American football), lineman, offensive or defensive, in NCAA Division II college football. The award is presented by the Manheim Touchdown Club and is recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The award is named after former NFL offensive lineman Gene Upshaw, who played college football at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, Texas A&I University and later for the Oakland Raiders in the National Football League, NFL. Weston Robert Schweitzer (born September 11, 1993) is an American football center for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at San Jose State and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Early life Schweitzer was born on September 11, 1993 in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he graduated from Chaparral High School in 2011. Schweitzer also was a wrestler in high school in addition to playing football, where he joined the starting line up as a sophomore and helped win more than three consecutive state championships. David John Arkin (born October 7, 1987) is a former American football offensive guard in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Rams. Benjamin Ijalana ( ; born August 6, 1989) is a former American football offensive tackle. He played college football for Villanova and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Early years Ijalana's parents immigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria.
