Brand New Machine
''Brand New Machine'' is the third studio album by English drum and bass production duo Chase & Status. It was released on 7 October 2013 by MTA Records under exclusive license to Mercury Records. The album features vocal contributions from a new wave of British talent, including Louis M^ttrs, Moko, Jacob Banks and Elli Ingram, as well as contributions from Major Lazer, Nile Rodgers and rapper Pusha T. The duo toured the album with an arena tour beginning on 31 October 2013. They also headlined 1Xtra Live at the Bournemouth International Centre on the same day as the release of the album. Background and release The promotional single " Big Man" featuring Liam Bailey was released through online retailers on 16 October 2012, although a free download was offered through their official website. Chase & Status
Chase & Status are an English electronic music duo composed of Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status). In addition, Andy Gangadeen is the drummer when the band performs live. MC Rage formerly performed as MC with the group, but left in July 2021 to focus on solo ventures. The duo are from London, and formed in 2003 after meeting at university in Manchester. The duo have since released five studio albums and collaborated with major artists such as Plan B, CeeLo Green, Rihanna, Example, and Tinie Tempah. They run the independent record label MTA Records. "Alive" is a song by British record production duo Chase & Status, featuring vocals from British singer Jacob Banks. It was released independently on 15 December 2013 as the third single from their third studio album ''Brand New Machine''. However, the song charted prior to independent release and entered the UK Dance Chart at number 40 on the week ending 23 November 2013, rising to number 16 on the week ending 30 November. The release of the music video also caused a surge in popularity and the song rose to number 48 in the UK Singles Chart. It has later risen to peak at number 21 on the week ending 25 January 2014. The song also featured in a ''FIFA 14'' trailer for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Nile Rodgers
Nile Gregory Rodgers Jr. (born September 19, 1952) is an American musician, record producer and composer. The co-founder of Chic, Rodgers has written, produced, and performed on records that have sold more than 500 million albums and 75 million singles worldwide. He is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a three-time Grammy Award–winner, and the chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Jacob Banks (musician)
Jacob Banks (born 24 July 1991) is a Nigerian-born English singer and songwriter from Birmingham. Banks won the 2012 MOBO UnSung regional competition in Birmingham and the Adidas "Are You In" music competition. His music is influenced by a range of genres including soul, R&B and hip hop. Banks is currently signed with American label Interscope Records. Music career 2012–present: Breakthrough The second release from ''The Monologue'', titled "Worthy", was played by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe as his "Next Hype" record on his Radio 1 show and received additional plays on 1Xtra, XFM, 6Music and Annie Nightingale. Nadiah Adu-Gyamfi
Diane Nadia Adu-Gyamfi (born 1991), better known by her stage names Moko or Nadiah Adu-Gyamfi, is a Ghanaian-British soul singer. She rose to fame after featuring on the Chase & Status single " Count on Me". Moko has released two EPs, ''Black'' (2013) and ''Gold'' (2014), on MTA and Virgin EMI. Under the stage name Nadiah Adu-Gyamfi, she won the £500,000 jackpot on ITV music game show '' Walk the Line'' in December 2021. Early life and education Moko was born and raised in New Cross, London. Her mother is of Ghanaian descent and her grandmother is Chinese. She began singing in her local church choir as a child. She enrolled on a music scheme at Goldsmiths, University of London when she was 15 years old, and later returned to the university to study English literature, practising in the institution's music facilities in her spare time. "Lost & Not Found" is a song by British record production duo Chase & Status, featuring vocals from British singer Louis M^ttrs. It was released on 26 June 2013 as the lead single from their third studio album ''Brand New Machine''. The song was originally due to be released on 30 June, but was included on '' Clubland 23'' which was released on 24 June and the release date was brought forwards. Due to this incident, the song title was changed to include the "not" from the second half of the chorus. Music video A music video to accompany the release of "Lost & Not Found" was first released onto YouTube on 4 June 2013 at a total length of five minutes and eight seconds. As of April 2016, it has received over seven million views. Drum And Bass
Drum and bass (also written as drum & bass or drum'n'bass and commonly abbreviated as D&B, DnB, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by fast breakbeats (typically 165–185 beats per minute) with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's rave scene in the 1990s. The popularity of drum and bass at its commercial peak ran parallel to several other UK dance styles. The Guardian
''The Guardian'' is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in 1821 as ''The Manchester Guardian'', and changed its name in 1959.
