Brand New Day (The Mavericks Album)
''Brand New Day'' is the ninth studio album from The Mavericks. It was released on March 31, 2017. It is the band's first studio album on their new Mono Mundo Recordings label. Commercial performance The album debuted at No. 149 on the ''Billboard'' 200, and No. 31 on Top Country Albums in its first week of release. It sold 5,000 copies in the first week, and a further 1,500 in the second week. The album has sold 15,800 copies in the US as of October 2017. The Mavericks
The Mavericks are an American country music band from Miami, Florida. The band consists of Raul Malo (lead vocals, guitar), Paul Deakin (drums), Eddie Perez (lead guitar), and Jerry Dale McFadden (keyboards). Malo and Deakin founded the band in 1989 along with Robert Reynolds (bass guitar) and Ben Peeler (lead guitar). After one independent album, the band was signed by MCA Nashville Records and David Lee Holt replaced Peeler on lead guitar; he would be replaced by Nick Kane shortly after their second MCA album and third overall 1994's '' What a Crying Shame''. The band recorded a total of four albums for MCA and one for Mercury Records before disbanding in 2000. They reunited for one album in 2003 on Sanctuary Records, by which point Perez had become their fourth guitarist, and former touring keyboardist Jerry Dale McFadden became an official fifth member. Edward Anthony Perez (born June 26, 1968 in Los Angeles, California) is an American guitarist and singer. He currently tours and records with the Mavericks after a long time of being on tour with Dwight Yoakam. Perez joined the Mavericks as a member in 2003. He has also played with other notable artists such as James Intveld, Connie Smith, Jim Lauderdale, Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack, Gary Allan and Kim Richey. Scott Vestal is an American banjoist, songwriter and luthier, known for his innovative approach to playing and designing the banjo. Biography Early years The older of two children, Scott Vestal was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma in a musical family.
