Brampton Warriors
The Brampton Warriors are a pair of defunct junior ice hockey teams from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. They were a part of the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League, Central Junior B Hockey League, Metro Junior B Hockey League, and Metro Junior A League. These two teams are the forerunners of the OPJHL's Brampton Capitals. History The Warriors began as Brampton Regents during the 1940s playing at the Junior B level. In 1957, the team became sponsored by a local distributor of the 7 Up soft drink. The Brampton 7Ups played in the now defunct Metro Junior A League for two seasons, 1961–62 and 1962-63. Bob Savage was their coach for both seasons. The team returned to the Metro Junior B Hockey League in 1963. Brampton joined the Central Junior B Hockey League in 1971 during a massive Ontario Hockey Association reshuffling of the Junior "B" ranks. Dixie Beehives are a pair of defunct junior ice hockey teams from Weston, Toronto, Weston, Ontario, Canada, which is now part of Toronto, Ontario. They played in the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League (1972–87), Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League and the Central Junior B Hockey League. Jr. A Beehives Founded in 1949 in what became the Metro Junior A Hockey League, Metro Junior B Hockey League (in 1956). The Staffords disappeared but were replaced when the East York Rockets moved to Mississauga in 1953. The Beehives won Metro Junior B titles in 1970 and 1971. They joined the new Ontario Provincial Junior "A" league in 1972 and stayed until the league began to fall apart in 1986, although the Beehives folded a year before the league did due to their rink being sold and closed down. The 1981–82 OJHL season was the 10th season of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). The 11 teams of the league played a 50-game season. The top four teams of each division make the playoffs. The winner of the OJHL playoffs, the Guelph Platers, won the OHA Buckland Cup and then the Dudley Hewitt Cup as Central Canadian champions. The Platers then defeated the Callaghan Cup champions from the Maritime Provinces to move on to the 1982 Centennial Cup. The Metro Junior "A" Hockey League was a junior level ice hockey league based out of Southern Ontario. The league originated in 1956 as the Metro Junior "B" Hockey League, which lasted until 1991, when it changed its designation from Junior B to Junior A. It remained a Jr. A league from 1991 until 1998 when it was absorbed by the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League. Frank Pietrangelo
Frank Pietrangelo (born December 17, 1964) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Pietrangelo started his National Hockey League career with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1988, winning the Stanley Cup in 1991. He also played for the Hartford Whalers. He left the NHL after the 1994 season. He played several more years in the IHL with the Minnesota Moose, Italy with HC Bolzano and Asiago Hockey AS, Germany in the DEL with Kaufbeurer Adler, and England in the BISL with the Manchester Storm before retiring after the 2001 season. He was named the Sekonda Face to Watch while playing for Manchester in December 1998.
