Angela Braly
Angela Fick Braly (born July 2, 1961, in Dallas, Texas) is an American executive. She served as president and chief executive officer of WellPoint (now Anthem), a large U.S.-based provider of health insurance, and was a member of the company's board of directors. She assumed those responsibilities on June 1, 2007, following several high-profile roles for the company. She resigned in August 2012 due to shareholder criticism. Since May 2016, she has been a member of the board of directors of ExxonMobil. Early life Angela Braly received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University in 1982 and her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law. She graduated from Richardson High School in 1979. Career She was a partner in the St. Louis law firm of Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, L.C. Malcolm Braly
Malcolm Braly (July 25, 1925April 7, 1980) was an American author born in Portland, Oregon. He spent much of his life in and out of various prisons, including Folsom Prison and San Quentin, before earning recognition as an author after his final release from prison in 1965. His most acclaimed novel, ''On the Yard'', was first published in 1967, and adapted to film in 1979. His other books include ''Felony Tank'' (1961); ''Shake Him Till He Rattles'' (1963); ''It's Cold Out There'' (1966); his memoir, ''False Starts: A Memoir of San Quentin and Other Prisons'' (1976); and his final novel, ''The Protector'' (1979). Terrell Alfred Braly (born 1953) is an American businessman. Biography Early life His great-great grandfather, J. Oliver Russell, along with his brothers William G. Russell, Levi Russell and James Russell, discovered gold in the Colorado Territory in 1858 and are credited with founding Denver and starting the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. He was born on December 1, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas. He began school in England and France before his family settled in Marin County, CA in 1961. He attended 3R schools and San Rafael Military Academy and graduated from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. in 1977. Brawley, California
Brawley (formerly, Braly) is a city in the Imperial Valley and within Imperial County, southern California, United States. The population was 24,953 at the 2010 census, up from 22,052 in 2000. The town has a significant cattle and feed industry, and hosts the annual Cattle Call Rodeo. Year-round agriculture is an important economic activity in Brawley. Summer daytime temperatures often exceed . History The Imperial Land Company laid out the town in 1902 and named it Braly in honor of J.H. Braly, who owned the land. After Braly refused to permit the use of his name, the name was changed to Brawley. The first post office at Brawley opened in 1903. Incorporated in 1908, it was a "tent city" of only 100 persons involved in railroads and the earliest introduction of agriculture.
