Brajković ( sr-Cyrl, Брајковић), is a family name from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia. Even though this last name is a South Slavic one, it derives from the old West Slavic word Braiker which means virtuous. It is transcribed as Brajkovič in Slovenia. The first written record about Brajković's is from the 15th century in Grbalj, Montenegro. Croatian Brajković's are migrated from Grbalj and Boka during the Ottoman rule in Montenegro. Elvis Brajković (born 12 June 1969) is a Croatian retired professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career He played for several clubs, including NK Rijeka, TSV 1860 Munich (Germany), Hellas Verona F.C. (Italian Serie A in 1996–97), Hajduk Split, NK Pomorac and HNK Šibenik. He played for the Mexican teams Santos Laguna (Torreón, Coahuila) and Atlante (Mexico City) where he figured two matches as captain in the summer 2000 season. From 2005–06 he played in the Croatian third division for Velebit Benkovac and later for Primorac Biograd, also in third division. Dragomir Brajković
Dragomir Brajković ( sr-cyr, Драгомир Брајковић; 10 December 1947 – 29 November 2009) was a Montenegrin Serb writer, journalist, editor of Radio Belgrade, poet and member of the Association of Writers of Serbia. Biography He was born on 10 December 1947 in the village of Pisana Jela (Bijelo Polje Municipality) in present-day Montenegro. He graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philology. He began publishing poetry, prose, essays and critical texts in 1966. He actively advocated the preservation of Serbian–Montenegrin unionism within the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1992–2003) and then within the state union of Serbia and Montenegro (2003–2006). In early 2005, he became one of the founders of the Serbian-based Movement for a European State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. Brajković died from a stroke in his sleep on 29 November 2009. Luka Brajkovic ( sh, Luka Brajković; born 26 June 1999) is an Austrian professional basketball player for Rio Breogán of the Spanish Liga ACB. He played college basketball for the Davidson Wildcats. Early career Brajkovic joined the Dornbirn Lions of the Basketball Zweite Liga in 2015 and did not earn a salary to preserve collegiate eligibility. Grbalj ( sr-Cyrl, Грбаљ), denotes a historic, rural region, as well as a tribe of the Montenegrin littoral, and a parish located between town of Budva and the Luštica peninsula, Bay of Kotor in coastal Montenegro. Most of the region now lies within Kotor Municipality. It is a fertile region defined by the Lovćen Mountain to the east, and terminating at the low western hills overlooking the Adriatic sea to its west. Etymology Grbalj was derived from Gripuli or Grupuli, a derivation of Acruvium, the ancient Roman city located in this vicinity (considered most likely at present-day Kotor, Montenegro).
