The Brainerd-Little Falls Muskies were a minor league baseball team that played for one season, 1934, in the Northern League (baseball, 1902–71), Northern League. They represented the cities of Brainerd, Minnesota and Little Falls, Minnesota. They played their home games at Bane Park in Brainerd. Under manager Charlie Patton (baseball), Charlie Patton, they went 58-58 in their only season of existence, good for fourth in the league. The Northern League was a name used by several minor league baseball organizations that operated off and on between 1902 and 1971 in the upper midwestern United States and Manitoba, Canada. The name was later used by the independent Northern League from 1993 to 2010. Brainerd, Minnesota
Brainerd is a city in Crow Wing County, Minnesota, United States. Its population was 14,395 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Crow Wing County. Brainerd straddles the Mississippi River several miles upstream from its confluence with the Crow Wing River, having been founded as a site for a railroad crossing above the confluence. Brainerd is the principal city of the Brainerd Micropolitan Area, a micropolitan area covering Cass and Crow Wing counties and with a combined population of 96,189 at the 2020 census. Little Falls, Minnesota
Little Falls is a city in Morrison County, Minnesota, United States, near the geographic center of the state. Established in 1848, Little Falls is one of the oldest European-American cities in Minnesota. It is the county seat of Morrison County. The population was 9,140 at the 2020 census. Little Falls was the boyhood home of noted aviator Charles Lindbergh. Just across from his former home is Charles A. Lindbergh State Park, named after Lindbergh's father, prominent Minnesota lawyer and U.S. Congressman Charles August Lindbergh. Bane Park is a park located in Brainerd, Minnesota, United States. It has a hockey rink, open rink, warming house, playground and baseball fields. From 1933 to 1935, it served as the home ballpark for three minor league baseball teams: the Brainerd Muskies (1933), the Brainerd-Little Falls Muskies (1934) and the Brainerd Blues (1935). Charlie Patton (baseball)
Charley Patton (April 1891 (probable) – April 28, 1934), also known as Charlie Patton, was an American Delta blues musician and songwriter. Considered by many to be the "Father of the Delta Blues", he created an enduring body of American music and inspired most Delta blues musicians. The musicologist Robert Palmer considered him one of the most important American musicians of the twentieth century. Patton (who was well educated by the standards of his time) spelled his name ''Charlie'', but many sources, including record labels and his gravestone, use the spelling ''Charley''.
