''Brain Pain'' is the seventh studio album by Massachusetts pop punk band Four Year Strong, released on February 28, 2020. It was the band's first studio album in nearly five years. The album was announced on January 14, 2020, accompanied by the release of the first two singles from the album, "Talking Myself in Circles" and "Brain Pain". Background and recording Vocalist/guitarist Alan Day spent time producing records for Can't Swim, Seaway (band), Seaway and Knuckle Puck, and managing his Christmas tree cultivation, Christmas tree farm. In January and February 2017, the group went on a UK tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of ''Rise or Die Trying'' (2007). It was followed by two US legs: one in March and April 2017, and the other in September and October. Four Year Strong is an American pop punk band from Worcester, Massachusetts, formed in 2001. The group consists of vocalists and guitarists Dan O'Connor and Alan Day, bassist Joe Weiss, and drummer Jake Massucco. They have released seven studio albums; their most recent album, '' Brain Pain'', was released on February 28, 2020, through Pure Noise Records. History Formation and early releases (2001–2006) Four Year Strong was formed in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 2001 by Dan O'Connor, Alan Day, Jake Massucco and a fourth musician who played bass guitar. They all attended Doherty Memorial High School. Soon, they released a demo EP titled ''All The Lonely Girls''. Knuckle Puck
Knuckle Puck is an American rock band, formed in 2010 in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The group released several EPs, one of which, '' While I Stay Secluded'' (2014), peaked at number 5 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. The band released a split EP with the UK band Neck Deep. The group signed to Rise in 2014 and released its debut album, '' Copacetic'', through the label in 2015. The band's name comes from the "knucklepuck" shot in ice hockey, which was popularized by the 1994 film D2: The Mighty Ducks. The Verve
The Verve were an English Rock music, rock band formed in Wigan in 1990 by lead vocalist Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bass guitarist Simon Jones (musician), Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. Guitarist and keyboard player Simon Tong later became a member in their first reunion only. Bitter Sweet Symphony
"Bitter Sweet Symphony" is a song by the English rock band the Verve, from their third studio album, ''Urban Hymns'' (1997). It was produced by Youth and released on 16 June 1997 by Hut Recordings and Virgin Records as the album's lead single. "Bitter Sweet Symphony" is based on a sample from a 1965 version of the Rolling Stones song " The Last Time" by the Andrew Oldham Orchestra. The Verve added strings, guitar, percussion and vocals. They obtained rights to use the "Last Time" sample from the copyright holder, Decca Records, but were denied permission from the Rolling Stones' former manager, Allen Klein. Following a lawsuit, the Verve relinquished all royalties and the Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were added to the songwriting credits. The name "Rise or Die Trying" comes from a lyric to "Go Long Dad", a song from their first album, ''It's Our Time''.
