Brahms–Schoenberg Quartet
''Brahms–Schoenberg Quartet'' is a one-act ballet by George Balanchine, to Johannes Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 1, orchestrated by Arnold Schoenberg. The ballet premiered on April 21, 1966 at the New York State Theater, performed by the New York City Ballet. Background and production Arnold Schoenberg's orchestration of Johannes Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 1 premiered in 1937. According to the George Balanchine Trust, Balanchine had said the chamber music were "too long, with too many repeats, and meant for small rooms", therefore went with the Schoenberg version. The ballet is plotless and has four movements, titled Allegro, Intermezzo, Andante and Rondo Alla Zingarese. In the original production, Barbara Karinska, Peter Harvey and Ronald Bates designed the costumes, sets and lighting respectively. George Balanchine

Patricia McBride
Patricia McBride (born August 23, 1942 in Teaneck, New Jersey) is a ballerina who spent nearly 30 years dancing with the New York City Ballet. McBride joined the New York City Ballet in 1959. She became a principal in 1961, becoming the company's youngest principal. Myriam Ould-Braham
Myriam Ould-Braham (born January 1982) is a French ballet dancer. After joining the Paris Opera Ballet in 1999, she became a ''première danseuse'' (principal) in 2005 and was elevated to the rank of ''étoile'' (star) in 2012. Early life Born in Paris, Ould-Braham's father is Algerian, her mother French. Taking an early interest in gymnastics in Algiers, she later turned to dance, finding it was more fun to move about with music. In 1993 she began ballet lessons with Yvonne Goubé at the Salle Pleyel before attending the Conservatoire de Paris in 1995. The following year, she was admitted to the Paris Opera Ballet School where she was awarded the Chausson d'Or prize. Stéphane Bullion (born in 1980) is a French ''Etoile'' dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet. Stéphane Bullion started dance at age eleven and entered the Paris Opera Ballet school at age fourteen (1994). Mathieu Ganio (born 16 March 1984) is a French ''danseur étoile'' of the Paris Opera Ballet. Mathieu Ganio was born in Marseille, France, the son of Ballet National de Marseille principal dancers Dominique Khalfouni and Denys Ganio. He began dance lessons at the age of seven and studied at the École Nationale Supérieure de Danse de Marseille from 1992 to 1999, before completing his training at the Paris Opera Ballet School. Jacques D'Amboise (dancer)
Jacques d'Amboise (born Joseph Jacques Ahearn, July 28, 1934 – May 2, 2021) was an American ballet dancer, choreographer, actor, and educator. He joined the New York City Ballet in 1949 and was named principal dancer in 1953, and throughout his time with the company he danced 24 roles for George Balanchine. He also made film appearances, including ''Seven Brides for Seven Brothers'' and ''Carousel''. He choreographed 17 ballets for the New York City Ballet and retired from performing in 1984. D'Amboise founded the National Dance Institute in 1976 to promote dance to children. Edward Villella (born October 1, 1936) is an American ballet dancer and choreographer. He is frequently cited as America's most celebrated male dancer of ballet at the time. He has won numerous awards, including the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Special, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the National Medal of Arts. Conrad Ludlow
Conrad Ludlow is a former principal dancer with New York City Ballet under George Balanchine. He also danced at San Francisco Ballet and founded and directed Ballet Oklahoma (now Oklahoma City Ballet). He is currently a professor at the University of Utah's ballet department.
