Braexir Lemboumba
Romeo Braexir Lemboumba (19 May 1980) is a boxer who represented Gabon at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He did this, in part, by defeating Olympic bronze medalist Bruno Julie at the 2012 African Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament. Lemboumba was defeated in the first round by Dominican William Encarnación in the Men's bantamweight event at the 2012 Olympics. Gabon competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's ninth appearance at the Olympics; the nation did not participate at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, affected by the African and the American-led boycott, respectively. The Gabon Olympic Committee (french: Comité Olympique Gabonais) sent the nation's largest delegation ever to the Games. A total of 24 athletes, 22 men and 2 women, competed in 5 sports. Men's football was the only team sport in which Gabon was represented at these Olympic games. Sprinter Ruddy Zang Milama was the nation's flag bearer at the opening ceremony. Louis Richard Bruno Julie (born July 11, 1978), known as Bruno Julie, is a Mauritian bantamweight boxer who won a number of medals in international tournaments and competed in the 2008 Olympics when he won the first-ever Olympic medal for the island of Mauritius. Career In his first major tournament, at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, Julie reached the quarter-finals. Four years later in 2006 he reached the final by defeating Mmoloki Nogeng, losing only to Indian Akhil Kumar. He also finished second in the African Championships the same year. In 2007 Julie won the bronze medal at the All-Africa Games in Algeria, where he was beaten in the semi-final by local hero and eventual winner Abdelhalim Ouradi. At the 2007 World Championships he beat Orzubek Shayimov but lost to Englishman Joseph Murray.
