Braemar Railway Station, New South Wales
Braemar is a former railway station which was located on the Picton – Mittagong loop railway line. It served Braemar, a small town in the Macarthur Region of New South Wales, Australia. History The station opened on 1 March 1867 as Rushs Platform, and was renamed Braemar in September 1892. The station along with the Loop Line was closed in 1978. There are no remains of the station. Main South Railway Line, New South Wales
The Main Southern Railway is a major railway in New South Wales, Australia. It runs from Sydney to Albury, near the Victorian border. The line passes through the Southern Highlands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Riverina regions. Description of route The Main Southern Railway commences as an electrified pair of tracks in the Sydney metropolitan area. Since 1924, the line branches from the Main Suburban railway line at Lidcombe and runs via Regents Park to Cabramatta, where it rejoins the original route from Granville. The line then heads towards Campbelltown and Macarthur, the current limit of electrification and suburban passenger services. The electrification previously extended to Glenlee colliery, but this was removed following the cessation of electric haulage of freight trains in the 1990s. Braemar () is a northern village of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia in Wingecarribee Shire. It is located two km north-east of Mittagong and is often considered to include the hamlet villages of Balaclava and Willow Vale. Clyde Engineering
Clyde Engineering was an Australian manufacturer of locomotives, rolling stock, and other industrial products. It was founded in September 1898 by a syndicate of Sydney businessmen buying the Granville factory of timber merchants Hudson Brothers. The company won contracts for railway rolling stock, a sewerage system, trams and agricultural machinery. In 1907 it won its first contract for steam locomotives for the New South Wales Government Railways. By 1923 it had 2,200 employees. After contracting during the depression it became a major supplier of munitions during World War II. In 1950 it was awarded the first of many contracts for diesel locomotives by the Commonwealth Railways after it was appointed the Australian licensee for Electro-Motive Diesel products.
