Henry English Braden, IV, known as Hank Braden (August 24, 1944 – July 15, 2013), was an American lawyer, lobbyist, and Democratic politician from New Orleans, Louisiana. Background Braden was born to Irma and Dr. Henry E. Braden, III, the first African-American member of the Orleans Parish Medical Society and the first of his race to sit on the boards of New Orleans Charity Hospital and Tulane University. In 1961, Braden graduated from Roman Catholic St. Augustine High School in New Orleans. In 1965, Braden received an undergraduate degree from the Roman Catholic Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. Victor Kenneth Braden Jr. (August 2, 1929 – October 6, 2014) was an American tennis player, instructor and television broadcaster for the sport. He earned a PhD in psychology and was married twice. He had 2 children, 1 grandchild and 3 step-children. Biography Introduced to tennis at age 12, he became good enough to earn three Michigan state high school championships, a scholarship to Kalamazoo College, invites to play in River Forest, Illinois and in Milwaukee. He told ''Sports Illustrated'' in a 1976 interview that he once hitchhiked to Detroit to watch Don Budge play Bobby Riggs, because he wanted to learn how Budge hit his backhand. Travis Donald Braden (born March 25, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He most recently competed full-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 27 Ford for RFMS Racing. He has also raced super late models, winning the Winchester 400 in 2016 and the Snowball Derby in 2019. Racing career Braden began racing when he was eight years old, competing in mini-wedges, quarter-midgets and Legends car racing, winning a Young Lions national points championship. Thomas Wardell Braden (February 22, 1917 – April 3, 2009) was an American CIA official, journalist (best remembered as the author of ''Eight Is Enough'', which spawned a television program), and co-host of the CNN show ''Crossfire''. Spruille Braden ( ; March 13, 1894 – January 10, 1978) was an American diplomat, businessman, lobbyist, and member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He served as the ambassador to various Latin American countries, and as Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs. Samuel Edward Braden (1914–2003) served as the tenth president of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He was recognized for his work during an incredibly tumultuous time in United States history, as life proved difficult amidst the Vietnam War. He served as the head football coach at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee from 1980 to 1981, tallying a mark of 0–17. Braden was also the head baseball coach at Fisk from 1980 to 1981 and at Kentucky State University from 1988 to 1995, compiling a career college baseball coaching record of 109–245–3.
