Braddell Bus Park
Braddell Bus Park is a SBS Transit bus park on Braddell Road in Toa Payoh, Singapore. It also serves as a bus park for ComfortDelGro buses. As of November 2014, the total fleet is 286 buses. Braddell Bus Park was built in 1978 replacing the former bus park at MacKenzie Road of which it is owned by the Singapore Traction Company. Braddell Bus Park acts as a central bus depot called Toa Payoh Bus Depot (TPDEP), before it went for renovation in 1997 to build a new building called ComfortDelGro, before renaming to Braddell Bus Park in 2001. Besides serving as a bus park, the premises also serves as the headquarters for ComfortDelGro and many of its local subsidiaries, which are mainly located in two blocks of office buildings. SBS Transit
SBS Transit Limited (SBST or just SBS) () is a multi-modal public transport operator in Singapore operating bus and rail services. With a majority of its shares owned by Singaporean multinational transport conglomerate ComfortDelGro Corporation at 75%, it was formerly known as Singapore Bus Services before rebranding to SBS Transit on 1 November 2001. Toa Payoh
Toa Payoh (, ta, தோ பாயோ) is a planning area and matured residential town located in the northern part of the Central Region of Singapore. Toa Payoh planning area borders Bishan and Serangoon to the north, the Central Water Catchment to the northwest, Kallang to the south, Geylang to the southeast, Novena to the west and Hougang to the east. Toa Payoh New Town is situated in the western portion of the Toa Payoh planning area. The latter occupies a much larger area, encompassing estates such as Potong Pasir and Bidadari. Singapore Traction Company
The Singapore Traction Company (STC) was a tram, trolleybus and motor bus operator in Singapore from 1925 to 1971. Established as a result of the Traction Ordinance in 1925, it was initially owned by the Shanghai Electric Company. The company took over Singapore's tram network, converting it to a trolleybus network by 1927. It acquired its first omnibuses in 1929, took over "mosquito bus" (seven-passenger buses) service in 1933, and became independent of the electric company in 1935. With only 20 operational trolleybuses at the end of World War II, a programme to restore full service by purchasing new buses was begun during the late 1940s. The company experienced a 15-week strike in 1947, and a 142-day strike over wages from 1955 into 1956. Metroline
Metroline is a bus company operating services in Greater London and south Hertfordshire. It is a subsidiary of ComfortDelGro Corporation and operates services under contract to Transport for London. As at March 2021, the fleet consisted of 1,532 buses, making it the third largest London Buses operator. Operations are split between two registered companies, Metroline Travel Limited and Metroline West Limited. Company history On 1 April 1989, London Buses was divided into 11 separate Privatisation of London bus services#Break-up of London Buses, business units, one of which was Metroline.
