Brad Prowly
Brad Prowly aka "Super Bad Brad" (born 1962) is a New York City street performer frequently appearing in the Greenwich Village area, performing R&B classics with the aid of a boombox and microphone. In 2001 Brad toured Europe as the opening act for The Fun Lovin' Criminals. In 2003, he appeared in a short film titled '' Karaoke Man'' by Adolfo Doring, in which he narrates while being followed to his "place of work" on the streets. In 2005, he appeared at the Apollo Theater performing "Let's Get It On", originally by Marvin Gaye, in which he received a standing ovation. In addition, he performed regularly at the Belmar Irish Pub in Binghamton, New York, in August and September 2009. Following his stay in Binghamton he traveled to Boston, Massachusetts, where he has been spotted singing outside the Berklee College of Music as recently as October 2009. Marvin Gaye
Marvin Pentz Gay Jr., who also spelled his surname as Gaye (April 2, 1939 – April 1, 1984), was an American singer and songwriter. He helped to shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s, first as an in-house session player and later as a solo artist with a string of successes, earning him the nicknames "Prince of Motown" and "Prince of Soul". Jared Lawrence Hess (born July 18, 1979) and Jerusha Elizabeth Hess ( Demke; born May 12, 1980) are husband-and-wife American filmmakers best known for their work on ''Napoleon Dynamite'' (2004), ''Nacho Libre'' (2006) and ''Gentlemen Broncos'' (2009), all of which they co-wrote and which were directed by Jared (''Nacho Libre'' was co-written with Mike White). Republic of Loose were an Irish funk rock band from Dublin. Formed in 2001, the band formerly consisted of lead vocalist Mick Pyro, bass guitarist and vocalist Benjamin Loose, keyboardist Deco, guitarists and vocalists Dave Pyro and Brez and drummer and percussionist Coz Noelen. Adolfo Doring
Adolfo Doring is an American documentary filmmaker and director of music videos. Video career Doring came to New York City in the mid-eighties to study sociology at Columbia University, then interned for rock and roll photographer Joel Brodsky. Doring began his film career in middle school when he started using Super 8 film to make small documentaries as a way to avoid term papers. The combination of his photographic skills and well-developed understanding of cinematic language led him to an early career in cinematography. Doring was director of photography for music videos of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Republic of Loose, Screaming Trees, and Stone Temple Pilots, while also flying back east to work in the hip hop world (Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Nas, Redman).
