Brad Green (politician)
Bradley V. Green, (born January 29, 1965 in Fredericton, New Brunswick) is a Canadian lawyer, judge and a former politician in the Province of New Brunswick. The son of Vernon Green, Green studied at the University of New Brunswick, earning an honours degree in Political science and a law degree. He was admitted to Bar of New Brunswick in 1991. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick in a 1998 by-election and was re-elected in 1999 and 2003. He represented the electoral district of Fredericton South and was a member of the cabinet from 1999 to 2006. His career in the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly ended when he lost his seat in 2006 to Liberal MLA, Rick Miles. In May 2008, he was appointed a Judge of the Court of Queen's Bench for the judicial district of Saint John. Fredericton
Fredericton (; ) is the capital city of the Canadian province of New Brunswick. The city is situated in the west-central portion of the province along the Saint John River, which flows west to east as it bisects the city. The river is the dominant natural feature of the area. 2006 New Brunswick General Election
The 2006 New Brunswick general election was held on September 18, 2006, to elect 55 members to the 56th New Brunswick Legislative Assembly, the governing house of the province of New Brunswick, Canada. The campaign came earlier than expected: the incumbent Premier of New Brunswick, Bernard Lord, had pledged a vote would be held on October 15, 2007 but when the ruling Progressive Conservatives faced a loss of its majority in the legislature, Lord said he did not want to face a minority government and, moreover, feared that a by-election could tip the balance of power to the opposition Liberals. The campaign was hard-fought with pundits and pollsters calling it too close to call throughout the five-week campaign. In the end, it was won by the Liberals led by Shawn Graham. Bev Harrison
Beverly John "Bev" Harrison (born May 10, 1942) is a former teacher and New Brunswick politician. Early life The son of William and Jean Harrison, Harrison received bachelor degrees in Arts and Education from the University of New Brunswick. Political career Harrison was first elected to the legislature in 1978 to represent Saint John-Fundy and was re-elected in 1982. In 1985, he, and two other Saint John-area MLAs, undertook a caucus revolt calling for the resignation of Premier Richard Hatfield. Hatfield made some concessions to them and they were re-integrated to caucus. Harrison was defeated in the 1987 election which saw the Opposition Liberals sweep every seat in the province. Harrison was again defeated in Saint John-Fundy in the 1991 election. He did not contest the 1995 election. Ralph Bruce Fitch is a Canadian politician, He represents Riverview in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick. Early life Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, he is the son of Dr. Ralph Fitch. In 1980, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Mount Allison University. His career in the private sector was in the insurance and financial industries. Michael Barry Murphy (born January 25, 1958) is a New Brunswick lawyer and politician. Biography Murphy graduated from Moncton High School in 1976, from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1980 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1983. He received his Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2002. A personal injury lawyer, Murphy was president of the New Brunswick Liberal Association from 1988-1993. In 2001, Murphy considered running for the leadership of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, but dropped out after forming an early campaign team. He supported Shawn Graham, the eventual winner. He last served in 2006 as the member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick for Tracadie-Sheila. Greg Byrne, K.C. (born April 14, 1960, in Harvey, New Brunswick) is a lawyer and former MLA in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. Byrne was educated at Fredericton High School, Saint Thomas University (where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1984) and the University of New Brunswick (where he received a Bachelor of Laws in 1987). A Liberal, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick in the 1995 provincial election. He joined the cabinet of Frank McKenna in 1997 as Minister responsible for Mines and Energy. The Court of Appeal of New Brunswick (french: Cour d'appel du Nouveau-Brunswick) (frequently referred to as New Brunswick Court of Appeal or NBCA) is the appellate court in the province of New Brunswick. There are five Justices, one Chief Justice, any former judge of the Court of Appeal who is a supernumerary judge and any former Chief Justice of New Brunswick who is a judge or a supernumerary judge. The court sits in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Cases are heard by a panel of three judges. As of 2018, the Chief Justice is the Honourable Marc Richard.
