Brad Drew
Brad Drew (born 25 August 1975) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. A City New South Wales representative hooker, he played in Australia for Penrith, Parramatta and Canberra and in England for Huddersfield and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. Playing career Drew made his first grade debut for Penrith in Round 19 1993 against Balmain at Leichhardt Oval. Drew made no first grade appearances for three years before making his next appearances in 1996. It wasn't later in his Penrith career that Drew featured more prominently for the team. In 2000, Drew played for Penrith in their semi final defeat against Parramatta. This was Drew's last game for Penrith and he signed for Parramatta in the aftermath. Drew played at hooker for the Parramatta Eels in their 2001 NRL grand final loss to the Newcastle Knights. 2006 Challenge Cup
The 2006 Challenge Cup (also known as the Powergen Challenge Cup due to sponsorship from Powergen) was the 105th tournament played for rugby league's Challenge Cup. It features teams from across Europe including England, Scotland, Wales, France and Russia. The competition started in January 2006 with the preliminary round where the Gloucestershire Warriors from the Rugby League Conference surprised an established Pennine League team in Illingworth. The final was scheduled to be played at the new Wembley Stadium but in March 2006 it became apparent that the stadium would not be ready for the final on 26 August so it was switched to Twickenham. In the final St. Helens proved too strong for the Huddersfield Giants, winning by 42 points to 12. It was Huddersfield's first final since 1953, when they also faced St Helens. The Auburn Warriors Rugby League Football Club were an Australian rugby league football club based in Auburn, New South Wales formed in 1953. They played in the NSW Ron Massey Cup competition and in Sydney's A-Grade competitions. 2017 In The 2017 Ron Massey Cup season, Auburn qualified for their first grand final in the competition. The Ron Massey Cup (formerly known as the Bundaberg Red Cup and Jim Beam Cup) is a semi-professional development level rugby league competition in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, run jointly by the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and the Country Rugby League of New South Wales (CRL). The competition is run concurrently with the National Rugby League (NRL). It currently comprises 13 teams drawn from the Sydney metropolitan area. The competition is named after Ron Massey, a former rugby league coach. Ron Massey died 19 September 2016. The competition is an expanded version of the former Metropolitan Cup and Second Division competitions.
