Dunlap, Iowa
Dunlap is a city in Harrison and Crawford counties, Iowa, United States, along the Boyer River. The population was 1,038 at the time of the 2020 census. History Dunlap was platted in 1867, and it was incorporated in 1871. The city was named for George L. Dunlap, a railroad official. Dunlap's historic Independent Order of Odd Fellows Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in June 2011. Geography Dunlap is located in the northeast corner of Harrison County at (41.853952, -95.599862). A small portion of the city extends north into Crawford County. East Monona Community School District
East Monona Community School District was a school district with a single school in Moorhead, Iowa. It previously served the cities of Moorhead and Soldier. History Circa 1997 the East Monona district and the Boyer Valley Community School District began a grade-sharing program. On September 9, 2003, the residents of the East Monona and Boyer Valley districts voted on a plan to consolidate the districts. The East Monona residents voted it down on a 313 to 178 basis, even though Boyer Valley residents voted in favor on a 385 to 30 basis. On Tuesday, September 23, 2003, the East Monona residents voted to dissolve the district, with 303–241 vote count. Crawford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,525. Its county seat is Denison. The county was named for William Harris Crawford, U.S. senator from Georgia and United States Secretary of the Treasury. History In January 1851, the Iowa Legislature authorized the creation of 50 additional counties in the state. Due to its lack of inhabitants, the designated Crawford County area was attached to Shelby County for purposes of revenue, taxation, and judicial matters.
