Boiany ( uk, Бояни; ro, Boian; yi, באיאן ''Boyan'') is a village in Chernivtsi Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. It is located close to Sadagura in the historic region of Bukovina. It hosts the administration of Boiany rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. It was the ancestral estate of Ion Neculce, chronicler of the history of the Principality of Moldavia in the 18th century. In the Middle Ages, trade route linking Cernăuți (now Chernivtsi) with Iași passed through the village. Kampung Boyan
Kampung Boyan is a malay village situated on the north bank of the Sarawak River, within the Taiping, Larut, Matang and Selama District, of Perak, Malaysia. Originally a tin mining area in the 1980s, the village gained attention after the rapid development of the Taman and Kamunting neighbourhoods in the 1980s and 1990s. Resulting in road development connecting the village to Taman Long Jaafar. The name of the village is believed to have been derived from the Baweanese (Boyanese) people who inhabited the area during colonial times, when the Lumba Kuda race course was still located in Taiping. With the relocation of the race course to Ipoh, many of the Boyanese also migrated to the new location. Boyan (bard)
Boyan is the name of a bard mentioned in the Rus' epic '' The Lay of Igor's Campaign'' as being active at the court of Yaroslav the Wise. He is apostrophized as Volos's grandson in the opening lines of ''The Lay'' (probably a reference to Veles as the patron of musicians). Historians have been unable to determine whether Boyan was his proper name (as Nikolai Karamzin and Fyodor Buslayev postulated) or if all skalds of Rus were called ''boyans'' (Alexander Vostokov). Although ''The Lay'' is the only authentic source mentioning Boyan, his name became exceedingly popular with later generations. Boyan-Enravota
Saint Enravota ( bg, Свети Енравота) or Voin (Воин, "warrior") or Boyan (Боян) was the eldest son of Omurtag of Bulgaria and the first Bulgarian Christian martyr, as well as the earliest Bulgarian saint to be canonized. Born in the early 9th century, Enravota was the elder brother of Malamir of Bulgaria, who succeeded their father Omurtag to the Bulgarian throne in 831. Enravota was possibly deprived of the throne because he favoured Christianity, which the boyars feared might endanger the court. Not long after the death of Omurtag, Enravota asked his brother to release a pious Byzantine captive who had been imprisoned by Omurtag. The captive's sermons persuaded Enravota to convert to Christianity and be baptized. Once informed of his brother's deeds, Malamir attempted to make him renounce Christianity, but did not succeed.
