Boxing At The 2023 Pan American Games
Boxing competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile are scheduled to be held between October 19 and 27, 2023 at the Olympic Training Center, located in Ñuñoa. The competition is split among 13 events, seven for men and six for women. The event will be used as a qualifier for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, as the two finalists will secure spots to the Games. Qualification system A total of 130 boxers will qualify to compete at the games (ten per event). The host nation (Chile) received automatic qualification spots. The remainder of the spots were awarded through various qualifying tournaments. However, the International Olympic Committee’s Paris Boxing Unit later decided the competition was an open registration event, meaning any NOC could enter a boxer into the event. Boxing At The 2019 Pan American Games
Boxing competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima were held between July 27th and August 2nd, 2019 at the Miguel Grau Coliseum in the Villa Deportiva Regional del Callao cluster. The competition was split among 15 events, 10 for men and five for women. In 2016, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) made several changes to its sports program, which were subsequently implemented for these games. Included in this was the addition of two additional women's boxing events. Medal table Medallists Men Women Jessica Caicedo of originally won the gold medal, but was disqualified for doping violations. Qualification A total of 120 boxers qualified to compete at the games (eight per event). The host nation (Peru) received up to seven automatic qualification spots (five men and two women).
