Boxing At The 1988 Summer Olympics – Light Flyweight
The men's light flyweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The weight class was the lightest contested, and allowed boxers of up to 48 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 17 September to 1 October 1988. 34 boxers from 34 nations competed. 1980 bronze medalist Ivailo Marinov won the gold medal by controversially defeating young Michael Carbajal. Jamsil Students' Gymnasium
Jamsil Students' Gymnasium () is an indoor sporting arena located in Seoul, South Korea. The capacity of the arena is 7,500 and was built from November 1972 to December 1976 to host Boxing events at the 1986 Asian Games and 2-years later the same sport on the 1988 Summer Olympics, and wheelchair basketball events at the 1988 Summer Paralympics. Oh Kwang-Soo ( Hangul: 오광수) (born October 30, 1965 in Goheung, Jeollanam-do) is a former South Korean boxer. Amateur career In 1985, Oh won the light flyweight gold medal at the Boxing World Cup. He defeated 1983 Pan American Games gold medalist Rafael Ramos in the semifinal bout. In 1986, Oh won the bronze medal at the World Amateur Boxing Championships.
