Bowman Hotel (Pendleton, Oregon)
The Bowman Hotel is a historic three story brick hotel building located in Pendleton, Oregon, United States. The hotel was built in 1906 by Purl Bowman (1862–1939), a member a prominent pioneer family in Pendleton. The family lived near lower Birch Creek, Oregon. Bowman was a successful farmer and wool producer. He bought the hotel property in 1900 of a house on the site burned down.Oliver Purl BOWMAN obituary

Pendleton is a city and the county seat of Umatilla County, Oregon. The population was 17,107 at the time of the 2020 census, which includes approximately 1,600 people who are incarcerated at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution. Pendleton is the smaller of the two principal cities of the Hermiston–Pendleton Micropolitan Statistical Area. This micropolitan area covers Morrow and Umatilla counties and had a combined population of 92,261 at the 2020 census. Birch Creek, Oregon
Birch Creek is a tributary of the Umatilla River in eastern Oregon in the United States. It rises at the confluence of East and West Birch creeks south of Pilot Rock, Oregon, at the base of the Blue Mountains and flows north, slightly west of the city of Pendleton. It enters the Umatilla River about from the larger stream's confluence with the Columbia River. Birch Creek is one of the rivers that drain Oregon's northwestern corner of the Blue Mountains, flowing alongside industrial waste ponds, and over two minor impoundments before reaching the Umatilla River. Lands in the Birch Creek drainage are used for logging, grazing, dairy farming, and factory farming. Birch Creek is a source of phosphates and the resulting eutrophication of the Umatilla River.
