Abie Philbin Bowman is an Irish comedian and journalist. His One Man Shows include ''Jesus: The Guantanamo Years'', ''Eco-Friendly Jihad'' and ''Developing the Country as a Hole''. He has worked on RTÉ programmes, including ''Arena'', ''CAKE'', ''Callan's Kicks'' and ''Irish Pictorial Weekly''. Joseph Bowman
Joseph Lawrence Bowman ( – 15 August 1779) was an American frontiersmen and military officer who fought during the American Revolutionary War. He was second-in-command during Colonel George Rogers Clark's 1778 military expedition to capture the Illinois Country, in which Clark and his men seized the key British-controlled towns of Kaskaskia, Cahokia, and Vincennes. Following the 1779 campaign and defeat of the British forces, Bowman was critically injured in an accidental gunpowder explosion and subsequently died of his wounds. He was the only American officer killed during the 1778-1779 Illinois campaign. Joseph Bowman kept a daily journal of his trek from Kaskaskia to Vincennes, which is one of the best primary source accounts of Clark's victorious campaign. Jamaal Anthony Bowman (born April 1, 1976) is an American politician and educator serving as the U.S. representative for since 2021. The district covers much of the north Bronx, as well as the southern half of Westchester County, including Mount Vernon, New Rochelle and Bowman's hometown of Yonkers. Frank Llewellyn Bowman (January 21, 1879 – September 15, 1936) was an American politician who represented West Virginia in the United States House of Representatives from 1925 to 1933. Biography Early life Bowman was born in Masontown, Pennsylvania on January 21, 1879. He attended the public schools, and then moved with his parents to Morgantown, West Virginia. He graduated from the West Virginia University in 1902, where he was known to have been a brilliant student, winning the Inter-Society Oration and Debate prize, and where he had been a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. Charles Calvin Bowman (November 14, 1852 – July 3, 1941) was a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Charles Calvin Bowman was born in Troy, New York. He attended Lansingburgh Academy in Troy, and learned the woodworking trade. He graduated in civil engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York, in 1875. Bill Bowman (May 26, 1946 – August 15, 2020) was an American politician and businessman who served as a member of the North Dakota State Senate from 1990 until 2018. Early life and education Bowman was born in Baker, Montana and raised on his parents' ranch in Slope County, North Dakota. Bowman briefly attended Dickinson State University, but left to serve in the United States Army. While Bowman was awaiting deployment to Vietnam in Hawaii, his father died in a farming accident. Bowman received a hardship discharged and returned to North Dakota, where he helped his mother operate the family's ranch. His mother encouraged him to return to Dickinson State University, where Bowman played on the football team and earned a bachelor's degree in business. Alexander Bowman (1838 – 10 July 1892) was an Australian politician. He was born in Richmond. The Bowman brothers: George Pearce Bowman (1821–1870), pastoralist, Robert Bowman (1830–1873), medical practitioner, and Alexander Bowman (1838–1892), parliamentarian, were the eldest, fifth and seventh sons of Eliza Sophia Pearce and George Bowman, pioneers of the Hawkesbury region. He was the grandson of John Bowman. He attended Cape's College at Darlinghurst and Carey's School at Windsor before studying at the University of Sydney, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1858. He moved to Queensland in 1859 but later that year returned to New South Wales, living at Singleton where he became a racehorse breeder and pastoralist. Alexander Bowman (c. March 1854 – 3 November 1924) was an Irish people, Irish politician and trade unionist. Baptised Patrick McKeown, he was always known as "Alexander" to his family, and acquired the surname "Bowman" to match that of his older half-siblings. The Bowman brothers were pioneer pastoralists of Tasmania (then "Van Diemen's Land") and South Australia. They were the sons of John Bowman (1785 – 1 June 1857, born Askham, Westmorland): Edmund Bowman, John Bowman, William Charles Bowman and Thomas Richard Bowman. The brothers Edmund Bowman Edmund Bowman (1818 – 14 August 1866) was born in Askham, Westmorland, and emigrated to Hobart, Tasmania with his parents and siblings. William Bowman (ca.1811 – 29 May 1894) was a pioneer farmer, grazier, flour miller and merchant on the Finniss River near Middleton, South Australia. History William and Alexander were sons of Archibald Bowman and Anne Murdoch Bowman (ca.1781 – 9 January 1866) of Cawder Mill, near Glasgow, Scotland. William Bowman arrived in South Australia in 1839, and began farming with Thomas Hogarth at Black Forest. He was an early adopter of the Ridley reaper, and spent much time and money in perfecting the reaper-winnower.
