''Bowie – The Video Collection'' is a video album by David Bowie, released in 1993. It included most official music videos made by Bowie between 1972 and 1990. Release and reception This video collection was released as a tie-in to the audio release of Bowie's '' The Singles Collection'', released at the same time and with similar packaging. The release was hailed by '' Q'' magazine at the time as "the greatest video collection ever seen" and contained most, but not all of, Bowie's official videos released between 1972 and 1990. It did not include any videos from Bowie's time with Tin Machine, nor did it include any of the videos from his album ''Black Tie White Noise'' video collection, which had been released only a few months prior. Notable video inclusions on this release were the videos for " As the World Falls Down" and "Never Let Me Down", which until this compilation, had not previously been officially released. David Bowie
David Robert Jones (8 January 194710 January 2016), known professionally as David Bowie ( ), was an English singer-songwriter and actor. A leading figure in the music industry, he is regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. ''Never Let Me Down'' is the 17th studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 20 April 1987 through EMI America Records. After a series of miscellaneous projects, Bowie hoped to make his next record differently following his disappointment with ''Tonight'' (1984). It was recorded at Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland and the Power Station in New York City from September to November 1986. It was co-produced by Bowie and David Richards and featured contributions from Peter Frampton on guitar. ''Labyrinth'' is a soundtrack album by David Bowie and composer Trevor Jones, released in 1986 for the film ''Labyrinth''. It was the second of three soundtrack releases in which Bowie had a major role, following '' Christiane F.'' (1981) and preceding '' The Buddha of Suburbia'' (1993). ''Absolute Beginners'' is a 1986 British musical film adapted from Colin MacInnes' book about life in late 1950s London, directed by Julien Temple. The film stars Eddie O' Connell, Patsy Kensit, James Fox, Edward Tudor-Pole, Anita Morris, and David Bowie, with featured appearances by Sade Adu, Ray Davies, and Steven Berkoff. ''Tonight'' is the 16th studio album by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, released on 24 September 1984 through EMI America Records. The follow-up to his most commercially successful album '' Let's Dance'' (1983), it was written and recorded in mid-1984 at Le Studio in Morin-Heights, Canada, following the conclusion of the Serious Moonlight Tour. The music on ''Tonight'' has been characterised as pop, blue-eyed soul, dance and rock. Much of the album's sound is the same as its predecessor's, due to Bowie's effort to retain the new audience that he had recently attracted, although some tracks contain R&B and reggae influences. Bowie, Derek Bramble, and Hugh Padgham produced the album. Much of Bowie's creative process was the same as he used on ''Let's Dance''.
