Scots ( endonym: ''Scots''; gd, Albais, ) is an Anglic language variety in the West Germanic language family, spoken in Scotland and parts of Ulster in the north of Ireland (where the local dialect is known as Ulster Scots). John Nott-Bower
Sir John Reginald Hornby Nott-Bower (16 March 1892 – 3 October 1972) was Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, the head of the London Metropolitan Police, from 1953 to 1958. He was the first career police officer to hold this post. Early life and career in India Nott-Bower was the son of William Nott-Bower, then chief constable of Liverpool City Police and later Commissioner of the City of London Police, and the great-grandson of Major-General Sir William Nott. He was educated at Tonbridge School and joined the Indian Police Service by competitive examination in 1911. He was posted to the United Provinces and served there until 1921, when he returned to England to work at the India Office in London. Thomas Bower
Thomas Bower (1838–1919) was an English architect and surveyor based in Nantwich, Cheshire. He worked in partnership with Ernest H. Edleston at the Nantwich firm Bower & Edleston, which he founded in 1854.Pevsner & Hubbard, p. 288 He is particularly associated with the Gothic Revival style of architecture. Shayne Alexander Bower (April 18, 1965 – June 24, 2007), better known by his ring name Biff Wellington, was a Canadian professional wrestler who was born, raised, and died in Calgary, Alberta. Professional wrestling career Shayne Bower trained with the Hart Brothers school by Keith Hart, Mr. Hito and Hiroshi Hase. Scott Bower (June 27, 1978) is an American former soccer player. Youth Bower grew up in Florida where he played for the Florida State U-17 soccer champion with the Tampa Bay Kickers. In 1996, he graduated from Gaither High School where he was an All State soccer player. Bower began his collegiate career with Stetson University from 1996 to 1997. In August 1997, he also played for the Clearwater Chargers who won the U-19 US Youth Soccer National Championships. He then transferred to Clemson University where he played his junior season in 1998. Clemson was ranked number one in the Country for most of the season, only losing one game. Paul Bower (born 9 January 1988) is an Australian rules footballer who formerly played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League. He was recruited as the number 20 draft pick by Carlton in the 2005 AFL Draft from Peel Thunder. He played the first half of the season in the Northern Bullants as a safe-marking backman, before missing two months through injury. Shortly after returning from injury, he made his AFL debut in Round 21 of the 2006 AFL season, playing the final two games of the year. Matthew Bower is a British musician, active since the early 1980s, who has done both collaborative and solo work. Skullflower Skullflower was formed when Bower joined up with Stefan Jaworzyn, Gary Mundy and Stuart Dennison in 1987 having previously worked under the name Pure with Alex Binnie and Alex Windsor. Unlike most of their immediate contemporaries in the London-based industrial underground, they used traditional rock instruments such as guitars and drums as well as tapes, synths etc. The line-up could be fluid, with members of contemporaries such as Whitehouse, Coil and Ramleh contributing.
