Boutros Khawand
Boutros Khawand ( ar, بطرس خوند, born 1940 in Kattin) was a member of the political bureau of the Lebanese Kataeb party and one of the cofounders of its military council in 1975. He was kidnapped in front of his house in Horch Tabet on September 15, 1992. Background Boutros Khawand began his political career in the Kataeb party in 1956. He held several key positions within the party in which he was one of the co-founders. In 1976, he became the confident of the elected Lebanese president Bachir Gemayel. In 1982, Khawand was elected to the presidency of the Military Council and the political bureau of the Kataeb party (the largest Christian party in the middle east), He held the latter position until his kidnapping on September 15, 1992. He was known to have a strong and well respected relations with all Lebanese leaders specially with president Amine Gemayel as well as the president of the Lebanese forces (Dr. Samir Geagea). Abbas Ibrahim (Lebanese Officer)
Abbas Ibrahim ( ar, عباس إبراهيم; born 2 March 1959) is a major general who has been the general director of the General Directorate of General Security since 18 July 2011. Early life Abbas Ibrahim was born on 2 March 1959. He hails from the town of Kawthariyet al-Sayyad, Sidon District in Southern Lebanon. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in military science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Career At the age of nineteen, he enrolled in military school and graduated three years later with the rank of lieutenant. Throughout the 1980s, he took part in several training courses in the military, culminating in an infantry course in the United States in 1989. This was followed by a computer course in 1996 to stay up to date with the electronic age. He also received advanced security training in the United Kingdom in 1998. The Kataeb Party ( ar, حزب الكتائب اللبنانية '), also known in English as the Phalanges, is a Christian political party in Lebanon. Lebanese Forces
The Lebanese Forces ( ar, القوات اللبنانية '')'' is a Lebanese Christian-based political party and former militia during the Lebanese Civil War. It currently holds 19 of the 128 seats in Lebanon's parliament and is therefore the largest party in parliament. The organization was created in 1976 by Pierre and Bachir Gemayel, Camille Chamoun, and other party leaders during the Lebanese Civil War. It was initially an umbrella organization coordinating all the right-wing party militias of the Lebanese Front and served as the main resistance force of the front.
