John Boulger
John Boulger (born 18 June 1945 in Adelaide, South Australia) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider. After he retired from riding Solos in the early 1980s, Boulger raced somewhat successfully in Speedcars (Midgets) from the mid-1980s until the mid-1990s. Boulger won a record nine South Australian Championships (a record jointly held with 1951 and 1952 World Champion Jack Young) as well as two Australian Solo Championships during his career. As part of the Australian team, John Boulger won one World Championship during his career, this being the 1976 World Team Cup held at the White City Stadium in London, England. Boulger had the honour of captaining the team to Australia's first Speedway World Team Cup victory. It was Australia's first World title in any speedway competition since Young's World Championship win in 1952. Demetrius Charles Boulger
Demetrius Charles De Kavanagh Boulger (14 July 1853 – 15 December 1928) was a British author. Biography He was born in Kensington to Brian Austin Boulger and Catherine de Kavanagh-Boulger. He was educated at the Kensington School. Beginning in 1876, Boulger contributed to the important British journals on questions concerning India, China, Egypt and Turkey and Congo. With Sir Lepel Griffin he founded in 1885 the ''Asiatic Quarterly Review'' and edited it during the first four and one-half years of its publication. He died in St George's Hospital. George Simonds Boulger
George Simonds Boulger (1853–1922) was an English botanist. Boulger wrote articles as the Kew Gardens Correspondent of ''The Times'', and other works on botany and natural history. Life George Boulger was born at Bletchingly, Surrey, the son of Edward Boulger MD. He was a cousin of the sculptor, George Blackall Simonds. He was educated at Wellington College and Epsom College and the Middle Temple. At the age of 23 he became Professor of Natural History at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, and after holding the chair for 30 years he was appointed Honorary Professor. He had also been Lecturer on Botany and Geology at the City of London College, since 1884, and at the Imperial Institute since 1917. Professor Boulger was an active member of public associations for natural history and botany, the Selborne Society, the Essex Field Club, the South-Eastern Union of Scientific Societies. Abraham Boulger
Lieutenant Colonel Abraham Boulger VC (4 September 1835, in Kilcullen, County Kildare – 23 January 1900) was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. In 1857 Boulger was serving with the 84th Regiment of Foot (later 2nd Bn, The York and Lancaster Regiment), during the Indian Mutiny and was involved in the Siege of Cawnpore and the Relief of Lucknow.
